It’s not a question whether you’re a veteran or not it’s just a general term I use and the true problem is people bringing Max out squads to BR1
And what i’m supposed to do if i want to play BR2 sometimes? That also includes bolt rifles. Why do i have to be punished for playing how i want? Are you going to punish premium squads owners too because they are bringing “Max out squads to BR1”?
^ “That goes straight to the BR5 hellhole” - Greyparrots
If you want bad reviews to start flowing in and any chance of new players joining this game going out the window and let’s just go right ahead and not question anything and watch this game explode
game has already exploded but not because of us because of devs.
You will get it either way since people will complain about long grind, bugs, P2W (that doesn’t really exist till BR4/5 and already been minimalized by powercreep/nerfs) and bugs.
They should just separate BR1 from other BRs till you have fully maxed squads.
But then you will make Japan insanely good so maybe not a great idea.
They have amazing bolties, AT rifles, smgs, tanks are crappy since usa has m8 scott but type 97 should be enough to take it out.
There are no good resolution of this issue newbies will be leaving either way (ask Riot games how many newbies been leaving after they got put into normal pvp ques and got completely obliterated, they could count tens of millions at this point), devs wanted a limit of 2 squads of each type but people have not liked it.
I think you should look also at the tanks instead just 3x assaulters/flametroopers. M8 Scott or Pz3N can obliterate newbies with Heat same with M13 and T28E/M3 they have zero counter against them till they unlock better tanks or BR2 AT launchers.
my suggestion doesn’t limit anything it just stops players from bringing a stupid amount of firepower to BR1 or 2 and if you try doing any of that stuff you’ll be sent to BR 3 or 4 or 5
What does it mean “a stupid amount of firepower” You don’t want to limit anything and yet you want to prevent people from playing how they want. At what point game will judge it’s objectively too much? 3 squads of the same type? What if it’s 2 squads of the same type each? Is it fine then? What if you have 10 slots with fully maxed out troops 2x of each type is it all right then? Do you know that even with your strat of BR2 you will be completely demolished by the BR5 so it would be the same as playing as BR1 vs BR3 aka no point in even trying. And BR3 is already playing vs BR2 so what difference would it make?
If you’re fully equipped with AP mines and all your weapons are fully maxed out you’re clearly fighting above your level and maybe you should move up to whatever is next BR for that level.
So a SBMM.
You do realize that’s going to be even worse than what we have for the new players, especially the ones with brains as once they get past the bot games the SBMM will force them to play with those vets you are so concerned about meanwhile the brainlets will complain about the grind because they lack the cognitive function to be able to with any sort of efficiency? All you are doing is guaranteeing that every single one of them quits instead of leaving it up to chance.
So we’re just gonna let the new players get destroyed by veterans creeping into low BR then ?
You cannot stop people from playing what they want, the best you can do is change BRs so some of the most egregious items or nerf them like the impacts. You also seem to forget that the veterans are also players and forcing them to play in a way or place they don’t want will also result in a loss of players.
How many AP mines are going to throw you over the limit? I never take more than 2-3 AP mines i fill rest with TNT. What if a newbie going to buy 5x AP mines because he’s heard it’s overpowered and broken? What if you have 8 fully upgraded guns but a single gun that is not fully upgraded yet? Then BR1 is fine? What about secondary slot? Can i take 9x fully upgraded guns but 9x unupgraded so play at BR1 vs newbs? Those arbitrary limits will never work and you know it. Especially since smurfs exist. PS AT mines should have BR of 2.
Everyone can be allowed to do whatever they want but I think we have to draw a line when it comes to massacring the new players
The arbitrary limits may not work but we still need to do something because when new players fight veterans they’re outgunned and they have nothing to fight with except 1 automatic and a bunch of crappy bolt action rifles.
Seal clubbing is a complicated issue, and it is not something that can be solved in a one and done solution that anyone can think of. Your solution literally prevents any vet from playing low tier because there is no point in using those weapons, which may leade as many vets to quit as we would have lost through new player frustration. You could also segregate the new players and old players for more time, but finding the right amount of time that strikes a balance between babying the new players and throwing them into the meat grinder will take a long time, not to mention that if the new players only play against new players, many won’t ever learn to play the game properly until they are thrown against the vets, and it is better to throw them at the vets when both parties have Stens and MP 40s than it is with Thompsons and StGs.
Then give every new players free premium squads when they register like in WT. But instead of tanks give them assaulter and engineer squads both with fully maxed weapons at BR1 for the first nation they are going to pick to play. It would be handy even at higher BRs since we will get a free premium slot so they will be always playing with 5 slots as long as they have one premium squad equipped.
Those three would be a big help for the new players and are highly overpriced at this moment.
that type of way of thinking only works if we have a good strong player base but we don’t and that’s why we’re going to steam
That would be lovely but for some reason DF doesn’t want to do that for some reason or have double XP weekends
There are promotions like that out there, except they give you silver so you can buy that stuff yourself. Combined with the 10 game grace period, a new player should be able to kit themselves out to a passable standard.
We have a consistent playerbase, it’s just relatively small. Steam launch is to grow the playerbase, not to keep it from hemorrhaging.
