Paratroopers are completely throwing off the balance and strategy of the game. It is absolutely futile to try to create defensive positions or plan on how the enemy is going to be funneled. Having 3 or more para drops on the capture point at one time is ridiculous and ruins the game. Paratroopers need to be limited on where they can drop specifically capture points by maybe creating a buffer zone around the point where they cannot drop. Also the para plane should not be so “tanky” it takes a lot of ammo just to shoot one down compared to any other plane.
Adapt, improvise, overcome.

Paras exist exactly for that: flank or attack behind enemy lines.
The problem with paratroopers is that they are all benefits, no downsides.
There is no reason not to select a para squad because they can drop wherever and become whatever they want, all that often with a top level weapon (lasergun FG or infinite ammo Tommy, for example).
you have obviously have not been on the receiving end of getting absolutely destroyed by Para squads. As soon as a cap point is available there are at least 2 squads landing on it and you or your teammates have not had an opportunity to even make it over there to set up defensive positions before the cap point is already half way lost. Dont confuse the reality of what paratroopers are there for and this game where they can suicide 3 of their squads and be back using a para team just to land on a cap point uncontested, select whatever loadout they want and wreak havoc behind you. while you are trying to defend against the front line.
I’m finding it harder and harder to take these posts seriously, because I think what has happened is that paratroopers have stopped the ability to camp.
All paratroopers need is more spawn delay. They arrive to the battle too quickly. Other than that, they are fine.
No more camping on MG nests, with tanks, creating chokepoints, none of that. If anything is ruining the game, it’s just that. Paratroopers open the ability to flank, and therefore make gameplay far more dynamic.
I’ve been on the receiving end of paras many times. I’ve also been on the receiving end of many worse things. Flame spam, rocket/bomb spam, WP spam, etc. I question if anyone who thinks paras are worse than that has actually played this game.
I remember when I was starting out in Normandy a year and a half ago, back when Axis dominated by a wide margin. I got frustrated with people camping in tanks and MG42 nests pretty much the whole match, ruining any attempts to advance. It was ridiculous, and I came very close to quitting. Tigers and HMGs made it worse.
That’s not an issue anymore. If someone with an MG42 is being especially problematic, stop them with paras, build a flanking rally, and give you team a chance to win. That’s called dynamic gameplay.
I’ve seen the majority of people complaining were Axis mains who got upset that they lost their ability to exploit new players. I have no respect for those people. I won’t assume that’s who you are though.
Maybe what people are mad about is that this game is becoming more skill based. You actually need situational awareness now, it’s not just “grab the best guns” and stomp bots all day.
This is silly - the defender is SUPPOSED TO CAMP!! That is what defending IS!

This game is/was so defensive biased and kinda predictable.
Paratroppers changes this. The battles becomes a lot more dynamic and exciting.

When you take away the tactic that defenders are supposed to use, then yes, it is a problem - suffer or not, paratroops were a stupid addition and have had predictably stupid results.

I think majority of players who are hating paras is just for the simple reason they don’t own them yet.
So they feel offended and jealous at same time, trying to ruin fun for others.
That is a valid defensive tactic - not everyone has to rush out on active defense.
I have all the para squads available so far.
I think the majority of players who are loving paras is just for the simple reason they are totally OP and they like being OP.
So they feel offended that someone else points out that they are OP and are afraid their OP new toy might get nerfed to be only reasonable.

For me the game have become so much interesting when you got more ways/flanks to attack from/defend against

It’s too easy to defend. But that’s just an insignificant detail anyway. Because without paras the game is a lot more colorless.
Paras levels the play field. And makes the games more dynamic (imo)
Countering paras really isn’t that hard. It just pushing players for more active gameplay.

The only downside I can see with paras is the capability of capping then next/just opened objective.
It should be a default cool down of 10 sec for every objective.

arrant nonsense - the is no great imbalance in attack/defense gameplay in the first place (unless you are an incompetent attacker of course…hmmm… ) they totally screw the defender because …
Skews the playing field totally for the attacker and makes any type of prepared defense impossible - you can’t static defend because you don’t know where they’re coming from, you can’t active defend because you can’t cover all directions at once.
There is no tactic or gameplay solution that negates their advantages.
