Paratrooper Achievement for new players

Hi. My sons just discovered this game a few weeks back. We’ve been having a lot of fun with it, but with a little bit of research we discovered that we barely missed out on an event that resulted in free Allied paratroopers.

I would like to make a suggestion to put Paratroopers behind an achievement to cover people like us who missed out. (Normandy Campaign being used for this list) Send a Level V of each of the Infantry classes to the rear: Sniper, Rifleman, Assaulter, Radioman, Engineer, Mortarman, Machine gunner and you unlock the “free” Paratroopers unit.

We’re currently stuck watching everyone else’s parachutes dropping in.

Unlikely, no squad has functioned this way in the past you’ll just have to wait for another Paratrooper event or buy them unfortunately

Sorry man, that’s just how MOFO works

My only problems with buying the 506th is that they can’t be moved around campaigns and we can’t buy 4 of them (3 boys and myself)

I already contacted Support and they confirmed that we would need to purchase in each account even though we’re playing on XBox One and only one of us can play at a time. I’m not paying $160 for that.

I’d gladly pay $40 for the 4 of us(i.e. license for our device), but I don’t think they seem interested in doing that.

Hopefully they’ll have another event soon.

Maybe they could make it take a Gold Troop order for the unit? It’s just really annoying that everyone who started playing 3 weeks before me got paratroopers and our only option is to pay $160

Separate but related: I “tried the squad” for the 506th and saw that you get to decide on the ground how you want your troopers to be kitted. Do the “free” paratroopers operate the same way?

It is unfortunate that you missed the paratrooper events. However, I think there will be another chance at getting paratrooper squads in the near-future. Italian, French, and Russian paratrooper voice lines have been found in the files as well as some not-yet used paratrooper cosmetics.

I’m hoping there will be at least another shot soon at the American paratroopers.

(Since we don’t have them, I have no way of directly confirming) But I heard that the free paratroopers aren’t linked directly to a campaign like the $40 troopers are.

If those were unlocked to be used anywhere, I might find myself justified in paying for at least one of the Mohawks. But I’m not going to shell out that kind of cash for a unit that is only useful in the Normandy campaign. It’s a drag.

The free ones are locked to campaigns just like the bought ones. (2 in pacific, 2 in normandy)

But when merge happens they will be available side by side, but at different Battle ratings

This is just speculation but I would say:

  • Mohawks, Brit Vicks and Fallshcirmjagers High Battlerating
  • Marine Paras and Japanese Low/Mid Battlerating

I still think that having three different squads of paratroopers will make the US really strong after the merge. If you have both the premium squad and the event squads, you would be able to cycle between them all the time.

No doubt, but i dont really like the marine paras, their loadout doesnt do it for me (*m1a1 carbine)

Cant say i really like the vickers or thompson much either  (not saying they arent effective)

But yes very useful in certain scenarios.

Yeah I only have the British paratroopers and I can say that the Vickers is somewhat ankward to use yet still very effective to storm a point. I found the german event squad more versatile with their FG42, but I don’t play germany that much anyway.

Now the fallschirmjager, they are a different story…scary at all ranges.

Imo anyway. Their loadout is just more my style

If there was a marine para unit with johnson mgs id be all over it. (Basically allied fg 42)

Gold order troops are just that, troops and don’t have any squad mechanics behind them.

Soon the campaigns will merge. Should’ve happened by now but I’m guessing the development for it is taking a bit longer so expecting later this year, early next year. They will use a nation system similar to War Thunder. Meaning that any USA Para’s someone has will be useable on all maps where USA will be a part of since there won’t be separate campaigns anymore. They will also raise prices I think, or maybe they’ve already done that.
There are regular discounts though so keep an eye out I’d say.

I notice you’re new to continued development freemium games like Enlisted. Expect to dish out a lot for premium content. Buying 1 of something and everyone plays it is bit of an older concept in gaming. I, like yourself probably, have been gaming since the early 1990’s and back then you’d buy a disc and use it wherever you install it. A few patches aside, those were one of development projects. Typically quite crude in terms of how much work goes into them compared to now (with exceptions of course!). I work for an app developer (no video games) and continued development is expensive so I personally understand their high pricing models but also very much understand the frustration that comes from users.

Maybe buy 1 set of paras? Buy more when there is a discount and the kids are still into it and haven’t moved on to something else. Or let them pick themselves what they’d like. By that time there might be regular non-premium, non-event para’s unlock able like everything else.

Unfortunately there isn’t any evidence I am aware of that the US is getting any more event paratroopers soon. When the merge happens and campaigns are dissolved the mohawks will not be restricted only to normandy maps. If you are considering getting the mohawks I would highly suggest waiting until november for enlisted’s birthday celebration and many premium squads will be half off.

I am pretty sure we will get some soviet paratrooper at some point, because the dev showed some VDV (soviet paratroopers) uniform assets in the forum. I don’t know if these will be event or premium though (maybe both) and we don’t have any info regarding when they will come to the game (if ever). But considering how powerful the paratroopers can be, I am pretty sure the soviet main won’t agree to get stomped by the fallschirmjäger without their own toys after the merge.

You’re more likely to see paratroopers in Moscow instead of Berlin because Berlin is a mess for paratroopers you can get stuck in some very weird areas for paratroopers in Berlin.

I went into a touch of extra detail since you took the time to respond in detail.

Thanks for the reply. No, I’m not new to freemium gaming and I’m certainly not new to the evergreen development cycle. (I’m a professional information system architect, but you couldn’t have possibly known that)

…I’ve been playing video games since the 80s, actually. It’s not the “paying for premium content” that (mildly) bothers me about this (…enough for me to post this, but nothing important in the grand scheme of things), it’s the lack of flexibility. One thing that always has to be considered is that the price point is set high enough to produce an outcome where “X%” of players will make a purchase. They make it expensive, not solely out of the desire for an income, but also to manage the competitive balance of the game so that you don’t have a dozen people all dropping paratroopers in on one side at the same time and make matches unplayable. Of course, I understand this.

Think back to Star Wars Galaxies when everyone complained about how hard it was to become a Jedi (and your Jedi perma-died after 3 deaths) LucasArts responded by making dead Jedi lose skills rather than be deleted and it absolutely destroyed the game. Before long, everyone you ever met in the entire galaxy was a Jedi. I absolutely understand that they need to control the supply. My complaint is more about the LACK of sophistication with the payment model. You should be able to have a user license that follows your account and a seat license that allows multiple accounts to occupy a single seat, one at a time.

This is how software is licensed in the modern world. If they’d make it so that we could pay for a license for use on our XBox then a minimal fee to allow each additional user to use them on the device, (say, $40+$10+$10+$10) I would buy them right now. As it currently sits, I’ll likely take the advice of waiting for November sale.

Is ez to understand $talingrad bundle:
400% of exp
Almost max star for gear and soldiers
Cheaper level up
Full access
3 slot per side
1 flmaer tank squad per side

Yeah, that would be a nice way to go about it but somehow I don’t expect them to do it. But voicing the idea to them might put them a step into that direction.

Sales are indeed your best choice I think assuming their pricing doesn’t change (for the better). Nothing has been confirmed but i find it hard to believe there won’t be free, regular unlockable para’s at some point. Or another event squad.

Just keep in mind with the sale, I’ve followed them less than in War Thunder but they are less consistent I think. Especially with the merge of all campaigns coming they might consider that already for people to be incentives to buy stuff since in a way they’ll be “worth more”. Like last November only some campaigns had stuff on sale iirc. I could remember wrong and my speculative comment might by too far out there. You can always dig through old news reports for oct/nov/dec.

Theres an event going on now btw, 2 great aircraft and 2 funny Luftfausts. The aircraft seem to be copy paste free version of the 2x 50$ premiums they just added. 20.000 mission points per two days so thats like 3 hours of playing per two days. Don’t miss it! Hope you guys can make it with 4 accounts on one xbox. It’ll be a tough month for your console running atleast 6 hours a day.

Cheers and hope you end up with something that works for you!

We probably won’t get it. I noticed that the “2 days” time span literally resets after 2 days. It isn’t like it makes a new level available to be unlocked every 2 days and makes you fill them in order. We are playing every day right now(usually each of us plays 2 rounds), but if we literally have to get done in 2 days that don’t cycle on our own Midnight (we’re Eastern Time) that just ain’t gonna happen.

I thought it was going to at least let us get a couple of levels slow and steady over the month but nope.
