Overaul of infantry MGs mechanics

I agree with the idea however, you could use certain areas and find a suitable area to set up a machine gun position. I always do this when I prefer to use my MG42 instead of the heavy MG. It can work effectively, as long as you find a suitable position for it.

There are some good areas in Moat East were you can build a MG friendly position yourself. Either dig a quick foxhole/trench. Or put some sandbags around to cover yourself from enemy fire and an ammo box nearby. Keeping your engineer alive is very important. Apologies if that was a little off topic, but overall, I agree with your statement.

So my main problem is that on most objectives, there never seems to be a “good” line of sight to mow down incoming attackers. You either must leave objective and find a spot or make a spot, or don’t mount down on a line of sight and remain mobile. It’d be nice if kill lanes and good lines of sight for incoming attackers were available ON OBJECTIVE

If that window is even any good for looking for advancing forces in the first place

Well, that’s definitely a start and more straightforward

Now that I think about it, after reading the discussions here - maybe the suboptimal nature for mounting is good enough, but we need to give the soldiers ways to create mountable areas and cover?
I think engineers should be given more incentives to build sandbags and other things, but other blokes should also be able to do something (we have shovels, but they are a bit cumbersome to use), like, picking that chair/couch/table and putting it down in a useful spot.
It’s a bit like - do we want to allow player to be creative in terms of making cover, or, make it more a tournament and basically get the mapmakers to optimize it? I am a bit leaning on giving players more options to interact with environment (but oh boy, console blokes are gonna be in a bad place with their limited controls).

You’re welcome

this is much deeper problem than just making map MG friendly. they need to make bipod mounting more flexible. e.g. i want to mount bipod on an incline, but i can only mount it while prone, giving it limited angle upwards, but if i could crouch mount bipod on same spot i could fire downwards.

I just realised that addition of stinger with 200 rounds means this probably won’t happen as it would be a masive change to the content already in game.
I guess we can’t have nice things.
