Player shouldn’t be forced to play game modes that he doesn’t like. For example some people, myself included, don’t like the conquest mode and would prefer to play invasion instead. So Darkflow should add some option in the menu to pick game modes that you like and exclude others before you start playing.
Maybe it’s just my bad luck but every game that I’ve played yesterday was conquest. You really lose the will to play if this keeps happening.
Some sort of filter is a standard in almost every shooter.

It will split the player base significantly. Invasion mode is easier as the defending team aka Allies. Most Axis players including myself since the update likes to skip this game mode if possible. Especially with the massive weapon and tactics unbalance since the latest update.
While conquest is a neutral game mode. The team with the better skills claim victory. This is my preferred game mode while playing as Germans. So, if the new players after a couple of games as Germans find that invasion mode puts them in a disadvantageous position, they’ll all rally to conquest mode. And you are left with invasion mode lacking Axis players while conquest being queued.
Unless these game modes are well balanced, this is not the best of ideas.
I actually did ask for this a while back. But back then I was mostly using the Soviets and the chance of winning was 50-50. Since then, invasion has become racist and I don’t support this anymore.

I love the invasion mode actually. I used to play as Allies before the progress reset and this is the node that gave you the most kills and it’s a lot of fun.
It’s just that since the latest update, it sucks to be the attacking team. Those nested MG has ruined the game for me. Players have gotten lazy and are now more focused on setting up MGs than holding or attacking a point. In invasion, this is not an option for the Germans. While the Soviets can set up a couple of them and frag anyone who comes anywhere near the point.
+1 I almost always prefer Attacker vs Defender game modes over conquest
Playing as an attacker is an absolute nightmare, especially when you need to capture two areas simultaneously

Ive had some good attacker games, Attacking 2 points at once is a nightmare but i dont think its impossible to attack on the one capture point mode, especially if you have artillery, a good tanker, or air support
Yes we should be able to choose which modes to play. People who like Conquest are going to play that most of the time, while those who enjoy Assault and Invasion will stick with those. It’s inevitable and needs to happen sooner than later.
While this may be a good idea later, this feature is also very risky. First of all, to make this work Darkflow would either recruit faaaar more testers in this stage AND after release hope for HUGE playerbase right from the start. Otherwise queue times would be insanely long for certain gamemodes and that would discourage people from playing Enlisted. There are only few fates for a game that are worse or more killing, than a lack of playerbase.
well, we are currently in the test version of the game. this means, we have to test things.
no offence, but i don’t think it’s the right moment to complaining about the gamemode system. since, again. we are testers and we are here to Test Things. no matter what.
by doing that, you wont test much else beside what you like, which it’s not how you test a game to begin with. making an example, if there are problems with a specific gamemode, and just a few people have a report those specifics problems with it. no one else will be able to say anything about it because they haven’t tested that out and didn’t liked or wanted to play it.
right now, we have to " sacrifice " something, in order to make the game good, and make it enjoyable for everyone.
and i’m sure it’s needelss to say that the game mode selector will be released once the game will be out.

i tried invasion both, as an attacker and as an defender, key to succes in invasion game mode is to secure points from where you can attack the point, a great example is 2nd point, where you have bunker and village, of course, everyone is going to bunker, but if you conquer houses front of point, you have great strategic advantage, you only need to take care of flanks possible from side barns, which should be target 1# for attacking team (if they dont control houses), its all game of maps, try to use them more often and cover your allies, you will see how you can go bias on both teams
and of course, dont rush too fast
You can’t do the same with the first point, or the third or the 4th. I’ve always considered invasion easier for the defending team. Enemies run into you. You don’t have to search for them. That is how the game mode is setup. No issues there.
It was not until recently that it became such a headache for the attacking team. It is only a matter of time before people realise that engineers are OP, fill the nearby houses with barbed wire(something that is available in abundance) and then setup nested MGs everywhere near the cap zone.
Unless you’ve played a game in invasion mode where you are not allowed to advance anywhere near the cap zone because the defenders had MGs pointing at the spawn points, you will never understand why it’s terrible being the attacking team in invasion mode right now.
The chances that players will run into the same situation during the alpha test is highly unlikely. But once the game is out and players start figuring out things, the unbalance will have much more clarity.
And I tried invasion as Soviets yesterday and it’s a breeze if you know where to put your engineers to work. Probably should have sticked with Soviets after the reset.
While we are on the topic of invasion mode, it would be nice if Germans got a nice XP bonus if the player was present when the point is captured.
Limited respawns, defenders spamming grenades into the zone, tanks and artillery strikes all while getting your ass fired at by MGs, the attackers deserve some extra credit. There is just 5 points anyway. Might be a good incentive for people to rush to capture points.
peharps, i havent played one invasion mode since i got engineer, still, there i no reason to give players ability to choose what mode they want to play as it’s going to have too powerbul drawbacks

Sorry Erika, but your interpretation of what beta testing (closed or open) is factually incorrect. The basic mechanics of the game has already been set in concrete. Beta testing is basically stress testing the servers. This is what has happened for the last 20 years for beta testing of any game, I know I’ve done it that long.
Now the suggestion for filtering game modes is a good one but I doubt it has legs.
