OMG the gold coin now is here!

iirc the endgame equipment for Moscow were the later Panzer III, BT-7, rifle grenades, flamethrowers, and mortars. All of those you can contend with as a low-level player. Maybe not really mortars but nobody can really contend with mortars other than planes. Just remembered fixed wing fighters are a thing but nobody uses them anyway lmao.

Now there are regular semi-automatic rifles, the Panzer IV, and the T-28. If you’re a low level there isn’t much you can do about those. They’re just too strong.

TL;DR they refuse to balance the game because it would increase queue times temporarily until new players flock to the game because it is balanced.

Don’t forget the Assaulter 2 squad.

I already forgot what’s even special about that.

Just more assaulters if you didn’t sell your soul to the snail to buy premiums.

They have a slightly different composition, with flamer instead of sniper iirc.

I’m not even sure myself.

The health perks are pretty annoying. I’m open to seeing them changed. 7.62x54R point blank to the chest should knock people down. end of story.

They have no problem down tiering the T34 for “muh balance” though.

NGL, I bought the T34 premiums and ran them into the ground for months and months. It was absolutely comical how powerful they were fighting early early early war tanks.

Last I played, which is over a year ago, T-34s weren’t as good as they used to be anyway.

T34. The american heavy. Not the T-34.

Totally forgot about that guy. I meant the Russian mediums. They wrecked house for a long long long time before they finally got uptiered to meet appropriate tanks.

They originally had a BR of something insanely low like 3.4 or 3 and then got up tier to 4+

I remember someone doing the math and saying their APHE shells were loaded with twice the amount of TNT/PETN than historically possible and gaijin shut it down huehue.

Postwar era was always a bad idea and I get to feel superior to people who try suffering through it anyway.

The Russian T-34s were never downtiered and have never been at a too low of a BR. What you talking about?

When I played they were at a comically low BR and Gaijin’s response to people asking why the T-34 wasn’t fighting tanks it historically engaged with was “muh balance”

The entire T-34 series (and it’s premiums) eventually got uptiered after months of it having a ridiculous W/R

Indeed - even if it from a SLR or LMG!!

Which reminds me: why do Russian coaxials still need 3 hits to down anyone

Balance of course - come on - you know the answer!!

Agreed

I tried to suggest that but then got all the complaints about how SLR’s would then be far too good and they needed less damage for “balance”…

Trouble is with that sort of “balance” is you pick some arbitrary number for damage and then …well… it remains arbitrary! It is too low for some, too high for others, here are arguments about it - there is no actual factual basis to support it.

Whereas if you try to balance by real world considerations (reliability, troops training, production costs, other equipment in the army) you can have a solid historical basis that isn’t just made up.

But too hard for some to accept :frowning:

But then the question remains: Why would we leave all starting players with shitty bolt action rifles that have NO benefits over having semi’s or LMGs? You know Darkflow won’t remove the bolties and do you really want to make the newbs suffer even more?

we had that argument, and that was not my position.

You didn’t agree with what I was proposing, but it was a coherent and thought through set of ideas on real world limits and simplifying it to that level is dishonest.

Well issues with suggestions are often quite simple.

Unless you want to balance out the stronger guns by limiting their usage / numbers, and/or by introducing a lot of jams for them, both being undesirable for the majority of players, there is no way to balance semis/LMGs if they did the same amount of damage.
