balance is a player’s invention. Even when the game came out of CBT, it was unbalanced and played well on Normandy.
Adding new equipment didn’t affect the balance either because it wasn’t there. People played tactically. Most of you don’t even know how many smoke grenades people used on the beach to get to the bunker, and now hardly anyone uses smoke grenades.
I’ll give you some advice. When you’re driving a Sherman and you see a Tiger, shoot him with a smoke projectile. It’s balance and tactics. Blind your opponent and you don’t cry that you can’t win 1v1 against him.
Tactics and thinking. But with you Westerners, thinking is punished.
if game/maps actually provided room for tactics and flanking i wouldnt be complaining about balance. when most of the engagements are forced into frontal armor vs armor, gun vs gun, sherman vs tiger is unbalanced.
Even m8 scott can penetrate and easily flank any german armored except puma. I can even took out tiger with it.
It depends your team and your skills. If your teammates just bunch of idiots and dont mark any vehicle, good luck since your gnna have hard times even with tiger
1- that maps is a disaster has no similarity with real omaha beach. Even ver sur mer is more similar to real omaha.
2-tanking in omaha is useless, it heavily favors defender. You need good pilots not tankers.
3-landing tanks under immense enemy mortar and artillery fire on a beach is stupid concept to begin with. In real war, allies first cleared the beach with naval bombing, air bombing and later infantty and then landed their trucks, tanks etc…
You don’t flank on the beaches. You blind the enemy and force him to change position. Sometimes this blinding of the enemy’s forehead will allow the allies to capture the objective, because the enemy tank has a problem, and they have one less player’s team to defend the point.
allies anti tank suck against tiger (either m1/m9 that cant pen it, or piat that you really need to know how to lob and then get lucky to hit critical spot) and suicide squads most often cant even come close
just so i can destroy his gun that he will repair in 10-20 seconds.
easiest counter is p38 or p47, but sometimes it is problem to actually see all tanks specially cause your team is not marking.
overall most of the balance problems is due to poor map design and/or lack of second f2p vehicle slot and not cause of lack of counters.
This isn’t a BUFF GERMANY post. Please just read as I explain my personal thoughts.
I was stating that the Germans only have one plane with those 250kg bombs. The only other plane with bombs is a Bf-109 G6. I know the difference in Kg to lbs, I was stating that it still doesn’t count for most American planes having anywhere from 100lbs-500lbs bombs, or rockets, or 100lbs bombs with rockets while the main ground weapon German planes have are Rockets or 20mm cannons (which aren’t too effective or unique).
I find rockets to be pretty ineffective. They can have a great wipe if they get that exact spot but that’s why I don’t like them. It needs to be a pretty perfect shot.
The German Bf 110 is unlocked at lvl 4 and it comes with 4 rockets and a 20mm cannon (it is rarely effective against infantry). The Americans get at lvl 4 a P-38G with 6 rockets, and also a 20mm cannon.
Having used them both, I’d rather have the P-38G.
The Jumbo is stronger than a Pz.IV H. In head to head combat, Jumbo can take every single German shell with its only weak spots being the hull gun or the flat part of the transmission slope. The only other exception is if the German tank is elevated so the jumbo’s armor is flat instead of sloped.
My problem with this is it can penetrate the front armor of a Pz.IV fine (I understand why, it’s a box armor tank) but nothing can take its shells until lvl 31 (the Panther A tank). And the reason I complain about it being so strong at the front is because it usually camps in the back so unless you have a guy who knows how to hail mary a panzershrek shot or you have air support, you can’t kill it!
And yeah yeah, the tiger/ panther exists but not until 11-16 levels later. I’m not saying nerf the jumbo or buff the tiger, but I personally think the Jumbo should switch level unlock with the 76mm Sherman.
I feel the 76mm Sherman is more on par with a Pz.IV H since they both have excellent guns and relatively easy armor while the 75mm Jumbo is on par with the Panther or Tiger since it has the beefy armor those tanks have.
I never said all American tanks have HEAT etc. but at least they do have variety. German tanks are limited, start to finish, with only 2 shell types. Not even their premiums have new shells.
Shell variety is something both Germany and America should see more of because then you could still have a chance with higher leveled vehicles. It wouldn’t always be a measuring contest to see who has the biggest tank, or an infinite punching match like Chuck Norris trying to fight Chuck Norris.
I understand this and stated such. But I also stated that both the German mg34’s and American mg’s are quick to overheat.
I would like to see just a slight boost in both of their mg’s overheat capacity.
My main “unbalanced issue” wasn’t between German tanks or American tanks in this area, it was between tanks having to stoop so low to be balanced to infantry (even though it’s a ******* tank).
It would also be cool to see American 30./ 50. caliber guns to be able to penetrate weak armored vehicles like the German Puma.
You say this yet I have/ still do. Aside from that, this isn’t a BUFF GERMANY ONLY post.
I just want to see some bombs for my German planes so I’m not limited to a bf-109 or a heavy bomber.
I, again, would like to see the Jumbo switch level unlock with the M4A1 76.
Not buffing Germany, not nerfing America. Just balancing.
A 57mm AT gun isn’t going to penetrate the front 102mm armor of a Tiger or sloped 80mm armor of a Panther.
Side shots could probably mess up the engine or tracks or something but there’s so much beefy or sloped armor on those tanks, that 57mm AT gun isn’t going to cut it.
I’m so sorry that I don’t have every campaign level memorized for your own convenience. No, they don’t have an attack aircraft until around level 20. Happy?
If you are referring to the P38 and its rockets, I already addressed that and why it is not unbalanced, and in fact is necessary. It seems you did not read the original post.
I’m aware and I already addressed this. Read the post again. Isn’t it funny how you conveniently fail to mention that you have the best tank in the campaign that easily outperforms and outguns every Allied tank in the game?
If a player in an M4A1 wants to attack a Tiger, they can’t penetrate the frontal armor unless they hit a very specific spot. And unlike the Jumbo/PzIV matchup, the M4A1 has little chance of escape once it has been discovered.
That’s not even close to what I said. But nice try.
So your logic is because the PzIV and Jumbo matchup is slightly unbalanced, the entire campaign is skewed to the Allies as a whole. Understood.
I will say it again: play both sides of a campaign before saying stuff like this.
I disagree. The Jumbo 75mm introduced at level 20 can bounce every tanks shells and easily kill the Pz.IV which is introduced at level 20.
I feel a good way to balance that out would be to switch the unlock for the jumbo 75mm with the unlock for the 76mm Sherman. The Jumbo is as beefy as a tiger (in this game) while the 76mm has a good gun and relatively similar armor to the Pz.IV. I feel like switching places would be perfect for a bit more balance.
