Are you kidding? This gun is an absolute laser beam!
because… thompson is iconic?
it’s… a choice?
not everything has to be better than what you have unlocked ( and certain campaings are a living proof of that ).
from what i have experienced and see with other users, the thompson is a good weapon.
maybe you should consider using it differently if it’s not working out.
or ditch it.
because looks like doesn’t suit you if you claim that it’s trash when it isn’t.
just use BAR… every ally smg is trash.
It’s ironic how the Thompson is op in Tunisia but useless in Normandy
it wouldnt be so bad if they had usable sights. and axis has some great smg with great sights so it makes problem even worse…
Just wait Thompson with 100 rounds drum.
That’s a ruse… Ain’t that a semiauto version?
Bot full and semi-auto, the 1923 with 100 drum was supposed be the replace of the Bar
Nothing, so Normandy allies are basically maxed at lvl 28, where you get the second flamethrower. The actual weapon progression ends at lvl 23 with the m2 carabine. All assaulter squads are useless.
P.S. Not a fan of machineguns, too slow and clunky.
didnt unlock bar m1919, but from what i see it is much better version of bar m1918a2 and i love it with only 20 bullets. i cant imagine i will hate version with 100 bullets and better recoil. but i hate the almost every ally smg (except maybe lanchester, but then again it is a copy of german mp28). sten could have been good, only if horizontal recoil wasnt so bad. m3a1 is meh, could use better sights, but it is ok for early level game. m2 is great, just that it has one major detractor… its terrible sights. if they fix the sights it would become best smg on allies side.
Don’t get confused, the M1919 is NOT a BAR, it is quite different because it plays much more like a classic MG rather than an assault rifle.
It slows down the bearer quite a lot, it gets the MG accuracy penalty while moving, and is best used prone and-or bipoded as a stationary fire support.
You technically CAN rush and spray with it, but the low ROF and accuracy penalty will make you lose CQC encounters quite often.
This said, it is a very strong and decently accurate (when mounted) MG and the 100 rds ammo belt comes really handy.
They need to add Thompson M21\28 with a drum mag (heck, even with a standard mag it is ok). Despite terrible bullet velocity it would be actually viable gun for allies.
wasnt even looking… thought it was just upgrade on m1918 BAR… it would be great to have BAR with 100 bullets…
Interestingly, American allies have better weapons than Americans. The British and the Soviets in Stalingrad have M21 / 28 Thompson or drum Thompson, but Americans can only tolerate M1 Thompson.
I’m fairly sure more Thompsons will be among the next levels of Normandy USA.
Not sure about the German counterparts though. Unless regular Kiralys manage to sneak into Normandy as well.
Im sure germany get the mg15 at the same level of the thompson drum or the stg44
Hey. You are right. Clearly the word trash is an overstatement. But it isn’t good either.
Sure. And that’s why I didn’t ditch it. (And also because I just love the sound of it). But that is the very subjective part. It doesn’t make it a strong gun!
Well I get your point. But when you see such an iconic weapon at such a high level, you just assume it is good! The tompson was the biggest reason I started to play the americans (not the only one, but the biggest). Sorry for being disapointed getting a barly average SMG at lvl 29! I guess it will be an ok B tier once I’ll have it upgraded. But such an iconic weapon, at such a high level, yeah I kind of expected it to be S tier.
Why is this gun level 29 when i could be a lvl 15-20 weapon?
Because let’s face it. If the game was competitive, (not saying it should be) no one would play it because the M2 carabine is straight up better in every way!
