Normandy: The tompson is a trash gun!

Hello fellows. I have grinded the entire allied normandy campain up to lvl 31. unlocked the tompson M1A1 not long ago, and I have to say I am very disapointed… it’s not like it isn’t as good as I tought it’s like it is a very bad gun!

before I start, I still have to uprgade my assaulters 2, to uprgade the gun. so it is still unuprgraded but I don’t believe it will make much of a difference.

Now, my question is: why would I ever use a tompson over an M2 carbine?

I mean the M2 is just better in every way!
better damages, better fire rate, better muzzle velocity, lower dipersion, slightly better reload time.
yeah the sights of the carbines are terrible but the sights of the tompson are terrible too! you don"t see anything at what you are shooting at!
And contrarly to the carbine the tompson does not have the hipfire laserbeam perk that the M2 has!

I played the lanchester on tunisia for a little bit, and I would take that over the tompson! I would take a god damn MP40 over a tompson! At least you see what you are shooting at! and the tompson is lvl 29!

Am I stupid or is this realy a trash gun? should I even bother uprgading it?? what advantage does it have over a carbine?

By the way, you can see a little U shaped hole on top of the sight of the tompson. this is the actual battle sight made for it. So you could actually see where you were shooting. Is there anyway to use this, over the other trash sight used by default?

Thompson m1a1 is the cheap one, you need unlock the m1

cuz you can actually see where you shoot.

“jokes aside” ( it’s meh for me. it’s one of those guns where you use it for hip fire rather than aiming ).

thompson is god tier of close quarter ( i guess after pps serie )

personally, one of my favorites. and upgrades DOES make the difference when using.

granted, you usually need 4 bullets in the stomach unless you get along with the recoil pattern and starts shooting at the head.

but overhall, a nice weapon in my opinion.
ok rate of fire, good reload spead, and once again, perfect for hipfiring.

beside, if you can’t use it, you can still give it to bots. they can kick some assets with it.

well ok. it would get on the lvl of the M2 on the fire rate departement. but what about all the other stuff?

if you use it for hip fire, why not use the M2? the M2 is the hipfire god! you can hipfire from 50meter away easily! that is why I don’t understand why the tompson is even a thing!

You’re on crack, IMO M1A1 is the best Thompson of them all with a not ridiculously unnecessary rate of fire where I lose tones more ammo.

Problem is the sights

If they do the early sight or the HLL sights the gun would be excellent

well midrange the carbine is doing well enough in hipfire. long range the tompson sucks anyway.

and i don’t feel like aiming is easier with the tompson tbh
the carbine as bad sights. but at least the bullet go where you aim. it does not fly in very direction like it does with the tompson.

The Thompsons are fine, but I firmly believe in M3A1 supremacy.

M1A1 is in Tunisia, M2 Carbine isn’t.
Also M2 has shit dispersion.

iv also longed for thompson believing in improvement to the grease gun… i was wrong, grease gun is better … i was excited at first that woaaah my first thompson (imo m1a1 thompson is better controllable than M1 thompson , but M1 rof is its triumph and i really dont care about sights) so the fully tuned grease gun is just better and cheaper i comparison to m1a1 … m1a1 should be available earlier … and for better mid range combat just use lanchester or sten … M2 carbines sights are the ones that troubles me, the worst sights in game imo
