So if one official custom server for realistic mode is full, the system should automatically open another, and maybe in the future when devs think there is enough players for a separate queue, they can move it into another main queue as realistic mode, like War Thunder.
so will realistic mode hide our team marker? because that what they did in warthunder. im gonna assume it does if someone make it
note:i havent play warthunder in like 4 year maybe they change it idk.
In War Thunder, it is removed in “Simulator” but not removed in “Realistic Battle”, so about the level of realism there could still be a lot of discussion. I personally suggest give teammate marker but only at short distance and allow friendly damage (idea from Insurgency Sandstorm).
hmm i see
But at the same time the BR becomes convoluted when your load out determines what match you’re put into. For example, is the Late War Kar98k (Berlin) going to have a high BR so it appears in Berlin, or is the BR going to be stat based so it being a simple bolt action mean it has a low BR. Is the Berlin Kar98k and Tiger II going to have the same BR so they appear in Berlin. Or the Tiger II was first used at Normandy, does that mean it will have a lower BR than the Berlin Kar98k
I think a better solution would be “pseudo” campaigns where we still have the tech tree and merged campaigns but the content is locked to specific zones, but of coarse it has the leeway of the universal tech tree. So if I have a Puma I can use it in Normandy, Market Garden, Berlin, etc. And we’d have a bunch of presets like the campaigns where we customize what weapons we’d have if the total match maker throws you on whatever map
In my understanding no, but Kar98K is not much different in Berlin and Moscow. MP3008 and VG2 may become rare exception of the BR to history relation, as they are less effective and will got low BR, they may be more likely to see on early war maps.
This concept is good but different presets make it to complicated and unfriendly to new players. maybe a better way to achieve that concept of “realistic weapon appear in realistic map” is add soft constraints to matchmaker, so if you got certain equipment, you are more likely to be thrown into any one of corresponding maps which historically these equipment had appeared. (Soft constraint means that it may be disabled if matchmaker fail to generate a feasible match in certain time.)
Customization question:
Will the autumn volokolamsk and the winter volokolamsk map both count as “Winter” for the customization presets, because both are moscow? Please not, i really do not want to run around in a snow suit if i get an red/orange autumn map @James_Grove
Same for the stalingrad tractor plant, will it count to autumn maps because it was in the same campaign as autumn stalingrad? Same issue there. I do not want to use yellow/brown uniforms in a winter storm map…
(–> Solution: Count “Volokolamsk Winter” and “Stalingrad tractor plant” for the winter preset
and “autumn Volokolamsk” and “autumn Stalingrad” as autumn preset)
Agreed. Overall these are great changes and a lot of good clarification. However, I have two concerns.
- Why are you allowing premium squads such as the Moroccan Auxiliaries to participate in the pacific? This kind of sounds like going against the principle of only allowing the right faction in the right battle, such as the example you gave like allowing the Soviets to play in Normandy.
This premium squad should remain with the British and only be allowed to participate in Tunisia battles. Or, have the uniform change to an appropriate one such as Australian/Filipino/Indian or any other one when being sent to the Pacific. There’s lots of options, and if you’re already changing uniforms to match the battle, it really shouldn’t be that hard.
- You’re not going to put a limit on squad classes per battle? You have to understand how toxic that will become overnight. I could bring 5 US flamethrower squads to any battle I get assigned to and then cycle them over and over. Same thing with Assaulters and Machine Gunners. Please, add a limit, or the new changes will slowly become useless and the game will become unplayable in mid to high tier lobbies.
Also, you will to find a solution for WP spam. Because if it’s not taken into account with the conditional rating, high level players will abuse it by taking early war guns and bullying new players with it.
To be brutally honest, I don’t care about the concept of “letting players play how they want” if it comes at the expense of literally everyone else. I don’t care if players want to bring 5+ flamethrower squads and WP grenade pouches if it means the rest of players suffer.
The discussion has been huge. My assistants and I are now collecting useful opinions and ideas, but at some point I lost an important thought for us: how do you generally feel about the upcoming metagame update? If it’s not difficult for you, please try to give a rating in a couple of lines. No more.
I’m sorry if I couldn’t answer anyone. Some of your questions simply do not have an answer at the moment, since the update is still in development.
Quite good
but I think they should do something with the event squads and premium squads, give them some special slots for them, because the truth is, they are pretty bad squads (ppk41, mp40) in terms of weapons, apart from the fact that they don’t have a engineer
Overall the proposed economy changes seem good! Just please try to preserve historical accuracy as much as possible in the matchmaking, it’s a very important part of the game for a lot of us. I understand some issues might be too hard to solve but at least keep it in mind for the future.
Overall positive.
-
simplified progression is good.
-
the fact we keep ALL our squads is good.
-
Only downside: not enough slots per factions. 10 is too limiting for such a huge amount of content, especially premium squads.
Suggestion: make premium squads having their very own unique dedicated slots.
I feel like this update will be pretty good, as we can now be using weapons around the same strength as the enemy (fg42 and avt40 for example) but i feel like something special should be done with the Premium squads, especially with the old CBT MP28 squad as it lacks alot of firepower compared to other squads.
I disagree because I like for the most part we have to choose what squads we’re bringing to the table. It adds a little strategy and makes us decide what play styles we want for the match. If I was carrying every single premium, event, etc squad then there’d be no point in strategy or choice if I can bring the whole armada with me.
In before but buying slots, yes but those are few and far between and the majority of players don’t have them; and I don’t mind that some people spent their money. I prefer my “special” squads just being another card added to my deck to choose from. And I have a few premiums and don’t use them all the time. I use whatever I feel like playing, sometimes regular units sometimes Specials, but not because they are “special” but because I’m in the mood, want their playstyle, etc. It’s like the Dicker Max is very effective against Soviet tanks, but sometimes one just feels like playing Panzer 3 or the Stuart, etc
If I’m bringing a “special” squad in I’d rather I had to decide what playstyle I’m feeling like and what I’m gonna swap around.
If everyone could carry around all their events, premiums, etc it would also saturate gameplay. Look at Paratroopers, at the moment they’re not that common….but if everyone could bring event squads all the time get ready to be swarmed. Or how Premiums are relatively rare, for example I’ve only encountered the Normandy rocket vehicles a handful of times.
I’m positive about the update.
I am negative about the answers, because there are no answers).
Uncle Sam does not allow answering on the Russian forum?
Well, if “there” (Terrible biased section of forum Russian trolls) are no answers, then there will be no reviews.
I think it’s fair.
I completely agree with this , but…
As I know this community, this would trigger lot of people. Yelling everywhere how enlisted is becoming more pay2win.
There is so many classes in game to choose from currently, are really 4 slots for f2p players enough?
I’m worried about spending money on premium units. When they were distributed among the companies it was clear, but now for the same AXIS I have 20 units that I cannot take into battle. They have become completely useless and there is no need to talk about unit settings, that’s a fact. I see the solution in issuing separate slots for premium units, because otherwise it’s money thrown away.
if you don’t need separate slots for premium units, then just don’t use them. now this is a problem that developers need to solve.
Event squads also should have exclusive free slot otherwise it’s unfair for free players that spend a lot of time grinding them.
Honestly I have faith in you, but I am max rank and have premiums, I don’t feel good about the changes, I like my choice of campaign, and if I want to play ie. Tunisia or Pacific I would like that choice…
I think this should be tested properly on one or two campaigns before ‘messing up’ peoples fun.
Example:
I bought P40 premium to fly in Tunisia against axis planes like the 109, G55, R2001 CN (which I also have), now I have no idea where or what I will be playing, I don’t like that…
Not to mention a lot more sweaty games, which can get quite tiring quite quickly…
