Combat zone

Battle of Khasan (July, 1938-Augast, 1938)

Battle of Khasan was a military clash on the border near Lake Khasan.
Kwantung Army ignored the meandering of the river and insisted on a straight border, but in reality the border was drawn along the river. This area had long been a demilitarized zone, but the battle began after the Soviet troops built a position in July 1938.

Early battle of Khalkhin Gol (May 11-29, 1939)

Battle of Khalkhin Gol was a border conflict between Mongolia and Manchuria.
In 1937, Manchukuo learned from the research of Japanese historians that the borders claimed by the Soviet were correct, but Kwantung Army ignored them. The clash that began on May 11 escalated and continued until both sides withdrew on the 29.

What you mean by Korean army? I know the 關東軍(kwangtung army) and 滿洲軍 (manchu army), but i never heard of korean army.

Its 朝鮮軍. It is an army that has jurisdiction over the Korean Peninsula.

Just in case. In Japanese Chinese letters Kwangtung army is 関東軍 and Manchuria army is 満洲軍 (modern: 満州軍)

Korean army (朝鮮軍) was Japanese colonial army.
They participated in the Battle of Lake Khasan because they were in charge of border security in the colony.

Oh ok 朝鮮軍. I didn’think about it.

Thank you for the hard work putting this together! I also hope we get a unique take on the Pacific, even if for an event or a map . The Soviet campaigns such as this and the Manchurian invasion of 1945 would be so cool!

This sounds great, and well done with the research.
We probably don’t need new campaigns and further split in playerbase before “play any” is introduced, but this would be cool eventually.

Why? I would rather have Soviet-Japanese conflict than US-Japan.
