I expressed my opinion briefly in the main thread, but decided to post it here aswell.
I think the New Battlepass proposal is very close to being a good upgrade.
However one slight change will make it a win for everyone: “Gold orders and Store Remains”
Instead of the New battlepass giving the weapon outright, it will still be a Gold Order. The weapon will go to the shop as is currently the case.
How is it Good for everyone:
Darkflow retains the potential to sell 3x the battlepass in the time previously they sold 1
Darflow retains having to come up with less weapons in the same period of time.
Faction mains are more likely to get a BP when its not their factions turn (theres a 3 month drought of battlepasses they wont care for unless choice of Gold Order remains)
If the Battlepass offers a weapon players dont care for, It will be still worth getting (again for Gold orders)
Having a store full of BP goodies for players to see is a good motivator for paying for battlepasses on a regular basis to earn those juicey Gold orders.
Darkflow keeps good faith with players returning from break or busy lives that cant keep up with FOMO of events, let alone Battlepasses.
Example:
I havent bought the last 4 warthunder battlepasses because they offered nothing interesting. How ever If they offered keys to a Previous Battlepass of my choice, they would see my money.
I dont see a reason why you wouldnt do this
If your intention is money, its better for money
If your intention is Rarity, you can do that by removing the ablility to by BP gear with gold
If your intention is FOMO or keeping players playing, Its still better this way in the long run
If your intention is good will to the players, this is better.
What potential is this? There is no difference since it is a self refunding battle pass.
How is your suggestion better for money?
So less money for them?
It will heavily decrease FOMO since you get 4 gold weapon order per season.
I don’t really see what Darkflow will really get apart from longer development time for gold order weapon. So it is very unlikely for them to adopt it.
You get gold refunded, which is very easy to spend on other stuff, requiring a top up when you spend it on “not battlepass”
For the reasons above.
They are having 3 battlepasses for the same price each in a period they currently do 1. Faction mains arent going to care about 3 out of a 4 rotation (rotation till their nation gets something)…Uninteresting guns arent going to be appealing either. So why buy? you would skip it, and have no requirement to play
Gold orders area “always” useful for the majority because you have “options”, whereas a single weapon to a single nation is going to “miss” alot of the players.
if their intention is rarity…its not money.
if you pay you get 4…if you pay you will want to play to get those 4
There is nothing to do with it, imagine there is no battle pass, you are still gonna buy the stuff you want with gold.
Dev wouldn’t loss money if you skip 1 battle pass since it is self refunding. Moreover it is not like there is no other reward like sliver and booster.
Doesn’t really make sense either since you will have more gold order.
Same situation with the current battle pass, but now you get more, so player might start to skip the last 1 or the one form event.
Nice suggestion indeed. Like I am personally waiting for them to make all the past GOs available for one last time before they remove the shop. I am currently sitting on 18 GO for weapons since I found no good BR V weapons in the BPs that we have had recently. This could really be a win-win situation for both the devs and players alike.
I can understand their position. They don’t like wasting resources on weapons that a bunch of people just ignores because they’re hoarding their orders for meta items. And they’ll probably bring everything back when they are ready to retire gold orders.
Not sure how the new BP format stops that. Those same players will still ignore BP if the weapon is meh or the wrong br (like a reskinned ppsh) …and they are still having to make weapons anyway…
Not sure how hoarding affects anyone. Its nothing to do with the economy, the guys doing the hoarding are obviously already paying and playing so it should be of no concern to darkflow or other players
I think a lot more weapons will be used if they are given to the player. As it is now the players don’t have those less-desirable items.
Plus with the BR system a lot of those old gold order weapons that didn’t make sense now have a valuable niche.
As I said, I think everything will come back right before the gold orders are retired. Some other system would come much later just to make sure those assets aren’t just permanent unobtanium.
The entire point of new bp system is to get rid of GO, so won’t happen. Also, even though bp offers refund in completion, I find it hard to believe most of people who buy bp actually finish it, let along within 35 days in the future. So it is definitely a money move.
But let’s say if DF actually want to show some good faith, they could keep the GO store and only give out GO as the final reward for marathon events in the future. I think this may be the most concession they are willing to make.
That was my idea from the start. We will see if the devs going to care about our opinion or not.
Plus there should be rotating extra shop with randomized 8 old GO weapons and also vehicles/soldiers that would change every season so you would have incentive and big dopamine hit when they will re add old GO that you wanted to get for months/years.
It is hard to believe that most of people who buy bp can’t finish it. Why would they keep wasting money on stuff that they can’t even finish? Moreover, it is not like the battle pass is hard to finish, unless you are very busy that you have barely any time to play.
