dude the AK was obsolete in the 70s, someone come along and improved it into the AK74 which despite it’s name only shares the chassis while being designed by someone else
Word of advice, salt farming only works if your actually correct.
I’m sure I don’t need to remind everyone in this thread not to bring politics or flaming into the conversation…
Dude it was designed by the same person . and they changed the ammo to 5.45 in fact the first variants were just rebarreled AKMs which were meant to fire 5.45 dude!!!
No need i don’t wanna argue with them I had enough laughs for one night its enough salt for me
Last I checked ain’t there like 50 different modifications and variants to the original AK-47 to make it work better?
You know how many variants of the M2 Browning there are?
The old water cooled variant that was made before the now well known air cooled/heavy barrel M2
The flexible mount, fixed mount, and a turret mount. M48 turret type designed for the M48 Patton’s cupola. Yes, the mountings are the differences. Not the design of the firearm itself, the way it mounts to something
The M2A1 which fixed 2 issues that Browning had with the machine tools available at the time meaning
THE GUN WAS SO PERFECT WE HAD TO WAIT FOR TECHNOLOGY TO EVOLVE TO FIX THE HEADSPACING PROBLEM
And aircraft variants that mainly had increased RoF, ability to be fired with an electrical trigger, and some other odds and ends changes for different functions
Literally limited by the technology of his time, RoF, and mounting methods. Those are your variants of the M2
Meanwhile literally every single individual country to ever produce an AK had to do something different because the basic AK-47 just wasn’t cutting it. Even Russia itself has had multiple versions trying to improve on an imperfect firearm
no it wasn’t, it was designed by a party under his supervision but he himself did not design it
and doesn’t that make it his design? under his supervision means every decision most likely had to go through him and there was nothing to design in the gun AKM fired fine , what happened with this new redesign? same gun, same firing method different ammo you just had to adjust everything for the ammos diameter and then you were good to go
Anyway doesn’t matter every gun goes through small or big redesign like M2 browning which became M2A1
Imagine thinking the dude who took two other dude’s sloppy seconds was more impactful than the father of modern firearms
and also the birth of AK Jesus, Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov, the son of God.
thank you that it is not with STG44
I just want more different nations events and corresponding arms & squads…
I don’t care about Browning or Kalashnikov. (gasp!!!)
Wow,I came back here after a while of making the post and like 60 replies are people arguing about Browning vs Kalashnikov, somehow diverting to missiles, and back to Browning vs Kalashnikov, all from a post that has absolutely nothing to do with them.God this forum is something else lol.Either these kinds of back and forths or someone complaining about something incredibly stupid and getting dogpiled always serve as goldmines for good entertainment.
I don’t want to upset you, but the fact that the US still uses an obsolete machine gun is not the merit of the machine gun itself.
and you also forgot that there is a Kalashnikov machine gun. Tank machine gun and light machine gun.
It isn’t obsolete. No one has made a better machine gun to this day
Before him, there were no pistols, rifles, cartridges, and gunpowder either.
Who are these people? Gatling, Richard Jordan and Lewis, Isaac Newton?
And when did Browning invent the light machine gun? Probably never. And the US military did a good job of making sure that their soldiers ran around with a 20-round ersatz machine gun instead of a full-fledged Lewis light machine gun. Have I got something wrong?
