National holiday(s) events for more countries and some suggestions to go along with them

 :joy:  I don’t know should i laugh no one cares for real there is like 1000 soda companies but all buy coca cola … :joy:  Welcome to capitalism kid AK-47 was revolution in the small arms same way Needle gun was when Johann Nicolaus von Dreyse made it…since gunpowder was invented that was the 2 biggest revolutions in small arms that impacted modern warfare. There is many other inventions but this was the two biggest ones that all people know it even if you are born on the moon…

The AK was hardly a revolution
The StG came first
Operating system based off the M1 Garand
The USSR just made SO MANY OF THEM and gave them to LITERALLY EVERYONE THEY COULD
Being the only good thing to come out of Communism doesn’t make you the best thing since sliced bread, it means even a broken system can produce at least one thing before it all falls apart. The USSR chose that one thing to be the AK

i noticed that life forgot that john browning made the entire recoil mechanism that most modern pistols used today

the AK was first used as an SMG until what the late 50s? and then the AK-74 was only made because of how effective 5.56 was

Jean Samuel Pauly also made the needle gun fist but it was not a perfect product same way as the STG and Grand … there is so many stories same was with Thomas Edison and Tesla the person that makes the best product wins even if the idea was not yours if you manage to sell it better then the inventor you get the credit … AK-47 was so impactful that US and UK had to make a main battle rifle similar to USSR cuz they finally realize how behind they where in small arms manufacturing. The entire world had to adapt to it same way the needle gun made the entire world adapt to it.

That’s why we call them sidearms armies had pistols since 16th century … and never where the preferred weapon of war …

And?
The “Commies” apparently could achieve something better with that system that the Americans couldn’t achieve at all with “that”: Creating a useful automatic weapon

Unlike the M14…

I’m sorry, who was the first person who came up with the concept of Pistol Slides, something that literally every single service pistol used in any reputable military still uses to this day? And pray tell, who designed the first ever HMG, with his design outliving dozens of others which try to occupy the same niche? Kalashnikov came up with one revolutionary design, Browning came up with two at the very least, with many more which had major impacts on the civilian market. So no, Browning is at the very least twice the weapon designer that Kalashnikov is.

Ok, so you are just not reading half the message, glad the literacy rates haven’t improved on this forum since my last visit.

There is nothing to read to compare a pistol with a revolution in small arms if pistols changed the course of war they would be the main weapon… Austro-Prussian War was the first big leap that showed that the main battle rifle is the most important weapon even if you give the Austro-Hungarian army modern pistols they would still have lost …

it was still a weapon used for war and was always a useful back up, but i guess you don’t think the entire modern class of HMGs important either but that isn’t the argument, the argument is how they both impacted the firearms industry and i’d say that the person responsible for an entire class to be made and the entire mechanism is a bit more important than a guy that made an SMG

You know what? Let’s take a step from production numbers. After all, the AK was the only thing the USSR could ever produce en mass. Much unlike food and boots

Let’s look at the telescoping bolt. You know, that thing the AK has inside of it. Browning invented
Gas operation? The system that runs the AK? Browning invented it

I mean you don’t make the word’s first reliable autoloading pistol and machine gun unique from Maxim’s without inventing some stuff that later gets used in…literally almost ever firearm afterward

its more of a symbol weapon since the AK  :joy:

well they outproduced you in Nukes also … xD

Dude’s got a rep sheet a mile long of guns he designed and their derivatives, as well as several very famous and popular calibers

Yeah how well is that going for them? What with their silo doors failing to open and rockets that fail to launch

My guy, the sliding pistol has fundamentally changed warfare in ways you would be aware of if you even bothered to look. Firstly, they are the the most direct ancestors of modern direct blowback weapons even more so than toggle locks or things like the C96, meaning that most submachine guns can trace their existence to Browning’s designs. Secondly, the sliding pistols were the first to demonstrate that the concept of semi-auto weapons could be as reliable as manual bolt weapons to basically every country, something that none of even the older semi-auto pistols can claim. Thus, Browning basically proved the concept creating enough reliable semi-automatic weapons to equip an entire military.

Also, the M2 Browning did exactly the same thing the AK platform did for HMGs, except it was the first, it’s still in service with fundamentally no changes despite being built over 20 years earlier.

I’m just trying to make things simple for those lacking in culture by focusing on the ones they probably already know.
