Move Yak-9K from BR 3 to BR 4/5

I have put it off and still I need to play it absolutely terrible map like Lehrter Bahnhof… omg

It flies like a brick

How many bricks have you seen that can easily break even super pershing?

in general, this is essentially a flying pak40, and I perceive it as an ultimatum to get rid of an enemy tank, and with this use, the survivability and flight capabilities of the aircraft are not so important, since after killing the tank, they immediately transfer to infantry. As a matter of fact, this aircraft can completely eliminate the need for a tank as an anti-tank weapon, and it will even be effective against the kv1.

lol. no.

An opinion of an avid user of it in BRV.

The Yak 9k is ONLY useful when the enemies spawn tanks and just that… it becomes a hinderance to your team when that isn’t being done.

Dedicated planes like tank busters and pure fighters have no place in high BR.

I will however acknowledge it is fairly powerful when the enemy spams tanks but that’s its speciality.

It also requires perfect top down attacks for tiger 2s but panther you can side pen with right angle or even through the turret haha.

Any plane with a 100kg bomb or bigger? (50kg even if you can get a direct hit)

The big diffrence between the Yak and the HS is the flying performance.

The HS really has to line up each shoot for 20-30 ish seconds before it can shoot while not be shoot down. Which isnt that easy when it even gets outturned by any bombers and only has 2 7mm Mg.

Meanwhile the Yak can turn on a dime which means it doesnt have to do any of that and it still can hold its ground in a dogfight.

Kinda disagree.
The Yak does have versatility as it can also perform decently well in a dogfight so it got both the tank hunter and fighter niche covered at the same time.
There not beeing a single vehicle beeing spawned in at all is kinda rare in most lobbies.

Performance wise? Sure… otherwise you’re left to getting lucky or maybe learning how to use the 45 but the machine guns just serve to tickle aircraft but that may be in part due to me using it in BRV so i’ll say that.

Just as a side note there is nothing more satisfying then catching an unaware pilot… getting right behind him and unloading the 45 watching their plane implode… i wonder what goes through their heads.

This is how i prefer to go after planes with the 9k so dogfighting is usually a last resort which then i usually just hit him with all machine gun ammo and then smoking or something but again with what i said above.

People really love to shit on 50 cals in general but they do can work for bringing down planes.
Just dont expect them to immidiately explode as if those where 30mm hits but on the other hand they do tend to somehow always snipe the pilots out of his cockpit.

Sure, 50 cals aren’t bad when you get 1000+… however you only get 200

it’s right in the nose which yeah can allow you to snipe pilot easier but centers the damage usually to the center of plane if you follow lead indicator which is the most armored.

Just never had a good experience with going after other planes in a fight and results in me getting them smoking while i go back for resupply and then just do what i know works.

Havent really tried the brick you use to scapegoat things.
Anyway, detpacks can also kill tanks but I dont see ppl asking to restrict them to BR5.

I guess, majority of people can take in account the bigger picture.

In this case, the yak-9k does not require any changes since it does the same thing.

And can dogfight, while the flying brick apparently cant.

You paid money for overpowered plane than can easily destroy KT. It needs to go up in BR.

If we gonna talk “OP” planes, this new 109Z is absolutely cracked. I knew it would perform well from the start, but it’s so much better than i imagined. I stayed in the sky in a br5 game against u.s. for 3/4s of the match without dying, taking out all jets, p47s, and paratrooper planes with ease. One short burst and any plane is completely decimated. The spacing on the cannons is so perfect for firing at planes and the ground for infantry kills. The bomb is just a cherry on top, it actually almost lands directly where your sights are when dropping at the right elevation/angle. I won’t say it needs to be uptiered, but holy shit, it really is a br5 plane that only got downtiered because of certain people lol

WTF no.
There’s many BRIII fighter like ki-100 and P-51D have better loadout, why yak-9k have to uptier if they are still in BRIII
Yak-9K have 0 anti infantry ability, and it’s premium. don’t touch it.

Good luck with your single 12.7 and turn rate

It takes skill and careful planning to do that… you need to be literally directly above to even pen the armor… and then hitting it accurately enough without pancaking to the ground.

To call it “easy” is a complete exaggeration… i however have “lol-penned” a panther just shooting at it randomly and it going through its turret… no such thing has ever happened to the tiger and i usually consider it a waste of time and ensures my plane is dead if i go after one… but that could very well just be skill issue.

and a 45mm gun with a fast rof?

Yes, a 258 rpm cannon with 29 ammo and different trajectory.
Definitely a good air combat weapon.
APHE will overpen 75% of the time even you hit.

Actually went to try out the yak9k in practise, earlier today and did exactly that “what actual fk that was” shot on tiger 1.

No idea where I hit but it blew.
