I mean they could have a visible firing arc. Meaning you have to be really experienced or have eyes on target to use it effectively.
You got the point if what I meant, its hard to make it solely useful without achieving what it does now. It must be addressed directly by the developers & for us to know what is in their mind (sort of the guidelines of how they may or may not intend to rework it).
Changing it into a sort of cooperative division it would be possible to fix the issue in some capacity, even being some it might be highly possible that it would shift from just a single player single handedly defining an outcome of match to just 2 players (basically principles remaining the same).
Although in this map 2 cap zones are inside structures (this doesn’t prevent the effect from happening) while open is in the open, the other conquest map have all of its 3 points completely opened which further the damage effect.
My problem is not with you or the fact that you are doing it (its actually good to highlight it), my problem is more in line with the developers that have learned nothing from it’s introduction in Berlin which saw even much wider use since the progression was at a good pace for testing, there are videos of people showing the extent of the effect even back then.
This highlights the question of, what was the reason of having such test ? (remember that test was open it gave bigger samples), to me I knew by right its for no more than early marketing the game (which questions the “test” label to it).
good to know you have such planty of free time.
no work no study, but all day with enlisted?
The berlin test had visible firing arcs iirc.
But agreed if it is visible (maybe also visible to squadmates?), aiming would be easier
if for squadmates, they can help you aim.
You guys really over complicate the mortars problem.Change the aim change the accuracy but be real. A good player or a player who love the mortar team figured out realy fast the aim and people who hate the mortar player still die and go the forum and type (mortar op or pls remove mortar). The big problem not the mortar damage or a good accuracy or easy aim. The problem that you not able to kill the mortar team.So the solution just the moment the mortar team fire they got marked on the map with a mortar icon or a circle that shows the player there a mortar team shooting and:
1:Other team counter mortar.
2:Plane dive bombing.
3:Sniper team hunt them down.
4:(Maybe in the future time) Scout vehicle rush and kill the motrar team.
But that just my idea. Opinion??And sorry for my english.English not my first language.
Prety much this. Right on point
Honestly changing the aim is more of an incentive to work toghetter for me than it is to nerf them.
Letting snipers hunt them down can only be done if the killcam is changed as snipers indiscriminately take out enemies but there arent enough viable locations to snipe from, so one player kill leads to people to just countersnipe them.
university - graduated, work - yes. working week ~ 10-15h, so there is really a lot of free time ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Yep, mortars now like artillery in WOT. Toxic and imbalanced class. Increased spread and reduced damage can render mortars useless, but cannot be left as they are. I doubt dev can setting them right
that’s cool, some people I know work 10h for a day. Can’t image your live, so easy to live i mean.
Not easy, because I dont own the means of production))
But this is another topic and not for this forum)
I still feel like removing the map point and click feature and replacing it with an adjustable firing arc controlled by scroll wheel where you need to visually see the target landing area to shoot with any accuracy would be a good way to fix mortars.
Maybe a marker on a map that shows where mortar is would help. Yesterday I played a couple of games in which I caught a couple of mortars, in my opinion it’s not hard to track them by sound, I would say it’s quite easy
Yeah, just played a game against you, you killed 88 dudes, lost none, and managed to keep us from capturing an objective basically the whole game.
Mortars OP, and they’re uneccesary. Easily balanced by removal.
I dont think removing them would be a good idea, but a massive overhaul is definitely necessary
In my opinion the issue with mortars in both this test and berlin is the small cap zones, which is a product of a small map size, im hoping that the small maps are only used for testing purposes because one grenade/mortar shouldn’t be able to completely wipe a cap zone, and with the amount of soldiers on each map i doubt a larger map would have too little action.
How this massive overhaul is really good to be noted & known, since if you would look at it changing it to be a cooperative division would really depend on how many people you need to make it work (in which it would achieve what is happening in the screenshot). Or continue to be a solo division in which it’s really hard without sever handicaping it (basically being a meme, just not as ideal or far better choices beside it).
Personally I can’t think of a way to it being functional & or effective without doing what it is doing now. Regardless their removal until it take a new shape for testing would be for the best.
I personally think they should simply remove the ability to aim via the minimap, as then the mortar squad either needs a second squad to help them aim, or they need visual confirmation on the target, as the red prediction line would still be there to allow them to aim directly.
