This might be just a bug, it’s not only mortars but AT Rifles too, I suspect that it’s the same story with PIAT and Sturmpistole, you get message that it’s enemy weapon, which is clearly wrong.

My guess was it blanketed all secondary class associated weapons
And like I said, I hope it stays this way, absolutely fuck mortars

19 of 23 minutes seems like you did exactly what I said. In that time I couldve racked up well over 100 kills with normal squads.

Someone’s a kill whore / eliteist then, most players don’t top 50 kills in an entire 30 minute game, I’ve noticed. Yes, I personally do better than this normally, but looking at scoreboards after each game, you notice most players do not perform higher than that degree.
Sure, if you’re good you can get 100 kills a game. Or if you use a tank well. Etc. But radio operators take next to no skill to lay down artillery barrage after artillery barrage and have a solid showing in a game.

I actually did stay in the back last night trying to get the “8 kill with Artillery” task done on my fully upgraded Radio Squad. Took me two games to get it…
Mean while, my fully decked out Mortar Squad with an engineer regularly got 40+ kills in a match with no threat what’s so ever.
Drop two ammo boxes, some sandbags, then THUMP away, until those boxes were done, then switch back to engineer to destroy/create two new…
Yeah, the Mortar team was drastically more powerful than the Radio Squad. Just took more effort to set up.
I’m glad they nerfed it as it was majorly OP.

Anyone with a brain can get 100 kills in a game that lasts for more than 20 minutes. All you literally need to do is run from objective to objective and point and click.
You’re right. But if you sit in the back of the map all game waiting to call in artillery, you’re doing nothing the majority of the game and thus being absolutely useless to your team. Passive gameplay where you camp the back of the map should be discouraged and now has no use thanks to this new update.

Ye, mortars where op killing wise. Arty was op for the non stop screenshake but not killing so much. They patched them both and its a bit better now with the screenshake.

Like I said, you’re being an eliteist. And adding mortars to standard squads would not discourage passive gameplay - quite the opposite in fact, as it would dissuade prolonged use of stationary weapons like MG nests, AA guns, etc, with the exception of those enclosed like in bunkers.

These statements imply that you believe your perspective is more important than those who average lower kill counts in game, or perform worse. Thus, I have interpreted it as you having an eliteist mindset.

The purpose of this statement was to point out that sitting in the back of the map calling in arty is less effective than playing objective.

Heres a picture of the results from a game I did to test the “average player”. I let all my AI run to objective. Once they were all dead, I would run forward with knife only and try to melee enemies shooting at me to death. I placed 3rd… Stating that “most players are worse than bots” isn’t elitist, its a pure fact.
No they don’t. Saying something isn’t “meta” doesn’t make me an elitist. You’re using excuses that I said the average player in this game is bad and calling me an “elitist” for it. You calling me an “elitist” is you trying to invalidate my opinions and elevate you above me and the definition of being an elitist.
I was calling you an eliteist as it sounded like someone finding the level of performance adequate to be considered capable as described to be insufficient for your standards. I was calling you out for what I interpreted as your attempt to invalidate the opinion of others by your level of performance.

Yes, I’m one of those and not proud of it, but apparently despite nearly 100 hours in I can’t do any better.
We get already frustrated enough by our poor results and consequent low progression while your kind poops on our head from the top of the scoreboard, no need to also insult us on the forum. Thank you.

I loaded in today and was like woah… i only get to shoot 20 mortars before the enemy team rage quits…
honestly before the update i grabbed my mortar with 3 ammo crates, turned spotify on and defended a single lane to rack 110 kills.
today i had to switch to my mg and 2 planes to feed my thirst for chaos.

Devs deleted in the update post and you can’t read it now, but now you can’t reload the mortar with ammo boxes.
