I guess that some of you thought of (more or less) the same thing: custom lobbies with historical settings.
But trying to make a lobby on your own, that is both historical and fair for both sides is a lot of effort. And that effort can be wasted by testing settings that somebody else already tried out.
So I had an idea: a dedicated discord server that will serve a purpose of gathering people who want to play more historical version of the game. To share ideas, feedback about them or even organise events (like historical D-Day landing with set gear and communication via voice chat).
It’s just an idea, nothing more in-depth than what you see here. I’m curious if somebody is interested.
(Yes, creating plans about something that doesn’t exist yet is rather pointless. But I do it anyway )
because there isn’t an actuall issue.
like, this game it’s asymetrical balance for realistic reasons.
historcal speaking, it’s no different if not worse.
and, people are there to seek that.
i think it’s actually a good opportunity to bring more people that cares about realism and historical accuracy. works even greater for community events and such.
how is this a problem?
i guess we could use another textual section.
but, we already have the community sharing links channel thingy.
but that’s my personal opinion about it of course.
How wasting something (time and effort in this case) is not a problem?
Well, call admins then. I don’t think it will work as it’s forum to provide feedback about the game, not to use it as a social media (at least not as much).
Of course I might be wrong, I’m not an admin.
using custom settings of the owner.
having fun while making historical or less enivorements ( for examples, americans at moscow, fighting british forces )
or limiting jumbos and such.
it’s not that effort requiring.
because after all, you do it to have fun. the first thing important in a game.
even war thunder has this feature.
exept you are not wasting anything?
but it’s your idea?
you just suggested something that technically the discord somewhat already provide.
So I’ll try to explain it differently.
The goal is to make an ingame custom lobby, that is as historicall as it gets BUT at the same time ballanced and fair for both sides. If you want to do that on your own, you will spend a lot of time as you will have to check how each change affects the ballance of the game. So, doing it in a large group will make it much faster.
And that’s the main purpose of creating said discord server. To find out what settings are the most historical, while keeping the game somewhat balanced.
that’s why people makes guides and those will exist for sure. ain’t that the main point?.
and the current discord can be utilized for that ( if needed ).
and there is no " right settings " because taste and preferences changes beneath each individual.
you can’t really do that.
because custom lobbies settings Does Not change the main values of the game.
