Mines Rework

This is primarily for AP mines (since I rarely (or ever) see AT mines).

  1. They should require a full animation to place. Being able to just toss down a mine is super easy for guaranteed kills. As it is, you just wait a time and it activates.

  2. AP mines should be fully visible and have visible trip wires. This way, they’re easier to see and require thoughtful placement.

2a. AP mines shouldn’t sink into hard ground. If you can’t dig it, it shouldn’t go underground.

2b. With tripwires, AP mines should have to be ran past rather than just being near them. Pretty sure proximity sensors weren’t a thing for WW2 mines. This also makes it easier to mine-sweep if you aren’t just being blown up by being too close.

  1. AP Mines should be removed on squad wipe. This way, you need to actually maintain your squad to get your free kills.

  2. Dropping AP mines on a rally point should destroy it. There’s plenty of videos of people putting AP mines on enemy rally points so it kills the squad that spawns on it. That’s cringe.

I was absolutely against them from the get go
I knew AP mines would be utter cancer

And I was sadly proven completely right

These suggestions look p good and they really do need more of an animation than just tossing it down
Like arming it or like with the Soviet ones actually choosing where the tripwire goes to

only thing that really gets me about AP mine’s is mostly how the bouncing betty is set to be in the “buried” position in any hard terrain like roads and houses in berlin and stalingrad, concrete bunkers of normandy or the wooden houses of moscow

Pretty much sure I died like 50 times to ap mines since the merge for some reason.

Then why dont we just make landmines as engineer’s buildable?

Most of your ideas are similar to RO2/RS2.

In RO2/RS2 booby traps cannot be planted anywhere except on soft soil and need to be buried instead of just throw on the ground. Moreover, they can be manually disarmed, while in enlisted they can‘t.

The gameplay are severely damaged by these mines now. Defenders just throw down these mines randomly on the ground and get free kills. Although DF claims that these mines are used to protect your flank and they even creates a tutorial videos to show how to use this ”masterpiece“, the fact is that people get free kills from them without any skills required, and it is difficult for attackers to avoid these mines.

I believe developers should reconsider the game performance of these mines, at least making them can be manually disarmed and easier to be detected.

Free kills without any skill required? please, return to COD, Valorant o whatever you played before.

  1. In this game, it will simply kill all the dynamics of the battle.
  2. What would be the point of AP mines then? The whole point of mines is that you can’t see them, and they kill, dude.

We are not playing Arma 3 or Squad, we do not have a military combat simulator, this is the most common arcade shooter with a pseudo-historical setting.

This is a bad suggestion that will just stupidly kill all the mechanics of mines in this game.

It’s the enemy team’s problem that it allowed the enemy to mine their rally point. I don’t see any reason to fix this mechanics.

cause people is starting to realize that unless in open ground and able to be bombed to hell, a well mined objective is the best defense against rushes, probably.

mines already have a very hard counter: you can see them if you let go the damn “W” key for a second and actually look around.

any nerf to mines is a buff to run and gun. do we really need MORE run and gun?

And so appear the “high skill” mine users

Good
Fuck AP mines
Only actual scum want them added in the current form
They’re not fun
They add absolutely nothing that a good bit of barbed wire and gunfire don’t already do

They’re just as aids as I said they’d be back in CBT

Thats only for Yank, Soviet, and Japanese mines btw
German mine sinks into the ground and only has the pin visible, this is doubly so if you drop it in a house or threshold and it plain disappears

Slowing the game down to place mines makes more run and gun?

planting mines require very little skill, and avoiding mines require very little skill. is not a matter of skill. is a matter of different gameplay style. tactics based, or reflexes based. im up for the first whenever possible.

When the mine is sunk flush with the ground there’s not really much you can do
Especially in an already fast paced and hectic game
“No bro just stop dead and look for mines in this chaotic run and gun WWII shooter, that’s a valid thing to do”
Lmao

the player that runs ahead full speed with his smg blazing and the player that falls back to the objective trying to mine paths of approach is always the same player, in your opinion? interesting.

No, one is worth having playing the game
The other should fuck off, you can delay the enemy simply by shooting them. All a mine is going to do is make them fight a bit harder to punch you in the head

Enlisted mines are gay as fuck, end of story
They were a nice addition for choke points in RS2, you know why?
You had to work for it a bit with both placement and the time put in

Ap mine rallies should be removed. It ruins the sportsmanship

AP mines are very low skill. I would argue, lower skill than suicide rocket run with a plane onto an open point.

Not only are AP mines low skill, but the persist over squad death. Unlike anything else in the game, you can run over a mine minutes after the user has gone through multiple other squad wipes.

Anyone can just drop them onto the point, sprinkling it like a cupcake. Generally, there’s only so many ways for you to enter a point and a squad of 9 can put down, guess what, 9 mines!

Even in call of duty, the runniest gunniest game out, there are ways to defeat mines. From the hop-up mines you can dive under, to the claymores which are directional, visible, and able to be hacked or detected with an additional skill.

AP mines in enlisted are both vestigial in their implementation and extremely easy to use for anyone.
You’ll not keep players for long when tier 1 timmy from steam gets blown up around every corner by them once the metas have been settled and people finally find their sweet spots.

Bombs should be taken away from planes, it’s not sporty that planes can fight tanks. :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy:

The sniper class should be removed from the game, it’s not sporty that a dude can kill another dude from a few hundred meters away :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy:

Go on, I like your way of thinking.

nice! good to know your very balanced opinion on this matter. so the players that use mines should all just “fuck off” then? just to be clear, “fuck off” as in, uninstall and be done with the game forever?

Wow hard agree, and this should be for every single game out there
