I believe the reason they gave Medics SMGs is, first, it is a common video game trope, and there are historical photos of Soviet Medics armed with SMGs, as it was a Soviet tradition to hand out SMGs to any and everyone. This is fine, however I think Medics should also have access to Rifles as well. Medics were trained just like every other infantry, and they often carried the standard rifles. And giving them Rifles gives them another gameplay style.
So give Medics the Rifle weapon class as well

Medic have smg because they replace assaulter 1, nothing else, nothing more
Indeed they need be free to equip semi and BA if someone dont like smg

We need German suringe guns as primary and medi-guns as secondary weapons, historically accurate btw
Personally I would like to also have an option to not take any primary weapon (only a pistol) and instead get some healing related buff (maybe even a revive ability).

I’ve always thought this would be a great idea. It would force Medics to actually do their intended role and focus on healing instead of being proto-Assaulters
I disagree because I like that this game is semi hardcore

They need to drop the price of pistols in all campaigns like they are in the Pacific and Stalingrad. One silver for any handgun. And medics were often armed with just a side arm in WW2. My Grandfather’s brother was a medic in france in 44 and 45. I talked to him when he was still alive. He said officially they were not supposed to carry a firearm. But both sides sometimes shot medics in combat so it was up to your Commanding Officers if you had permission to carry a 1911 or whatever sidearm they could scroung up for you.
In the Pacific, you carried a gun because the Japanese often shot medics (this is documented) and GI’s really really didn’t want to go to a Japanese POW camp.
My cousin is now a Navy Corpman, the rule about being unarmed is no longer a thing. The US arms medics with a sidearm and the transport vehicles they use can have 1 or 2 armed escorts with a side mount MG for protection (policy due to the war on terror shooting at helicopters and trucks with a red cross on them)

They can already use rifles.
My medic squad in Stalingrad is all Kar98s
But ze healing is not as revarding as ze hurting

Even hll and ps have revives and they are far more hardcore.
Enlisted is slightly less arcade than BF.
So I don’t see why not.
Technically healing is a revive because you can heal downed soldiers
Yes but that’s because every class has the basic starter rifle. I mean access to the entire Rifle weapon class, like Engineers and such. For example, the M1 Carbine

If you ask me current downed state should go away and be replaced. It’s a relic of battle royale game that preceded enlisted.
Currently in game you are either insta killed or downed depending on the damage. Maybe they could make it so if you are downed but don’t have a med pack you have an extra long bleed out and it gives time for any medics to heal you
