Time for your Bi-Monthly complaint about the lack of an Me-262! The Me-262 a2 with 2 250kg bombs or the 24 R4M rockets would be a pretty cool addition to the axis TT. Currently, there is no real reason to grind axis planes past the JU-188 due to most high br axis planes just being copy-pastes of the same low tier planes but without bombs/rockets and with larger cannons that barely affect gameplay. Most players won’t even grind axis planes past the BF-110 G2 anyways because it’s simply not worth it. With the additions of the Hyde M1944 and the Super Pershing balancing out ground combat, Americans still have obvious air superiority. The Me-262 wouldn’t even be too OP compared to the AP4C, P47, and high tier P38s due to it’s wide turn time and unique tactics/gameplay. In most axis matches my team either never has any planes up or it’s just a lone BF110 G2 getting harassed by both American planes, whatever they may be. At this stage in the game where the devs are adding weapons that were either never used (T24 MG, Hyde M1944), never used during the war (T99 M26, built during the war doesn’t = used during the war, it hadn’t even been tested until months after the war ended in japan), or only used once (Super Pershing), it would be refreshing to have something added to the game that actually makes sense being added to the TT, as the Me 262 was used a decent amount during the war. Either that or night battles because some night maps would be pretty fun since Germans, Soviets, Americans, and Japanese(experimental but who cares) all had some sort of NV technology for their soldiers/vehicles.
i am going to be honest the 262 would be worse than the biplanes because of how small the maps are and how jet engines work , you are going to be disappointed in the R4Ms as well with as (though the 262a-1 without payloads would be fun because of the 30mms); also night battles will be awful no
They could make plane boundaries larger so the me-262 has a better chance and prop planes can have larger, more fun dogfights with each other. Also, larger plane boundaries could introduce an actual fuel mechanic since pilots couldn’t just infinitely fly around full speed for however long, lessening the annoying CAS for everyone/allowing for multiple people to fly planes rather than one person hogging it and not helping their team other than a missile strike every once in a while. R4M’s are plenty capable of Air to Ground combat with 520 grams of explosive filler and 24 rockets. Just look at HVARs, those things perform fine in terms of CAS. And when I say night battles, I don’t mean pitch black, just dark enough for Night vision to be a worthwhile addition. They were pretty advanced technology and it would be cool to see them getting real representation in more videogames.
I think it would be fun to see it and its variations in game, especially the 50mm cannon one,but like you and ricky said, maps are too small and the turn speed isn’t great.I personally would like to see the Do 335 B-2 instead, which has 2 high pen 30mm cannons,2 20mms,as well as a 500kg and two 250kg bombs.
I agree, the Do 335 would be very cool!
I think the m-262 will be stronger in Enlisted than Warthunder (due to lead indicator and 30mms wrecking infantry)
In any case I would get it. Its actually quite manueverable in warthunder and a joy to fly. The main issue it has in warthunder is cannon velocity is not good for air combat (which really doesnt matter much in enlisted), and taking off (which you dont do in Enlisted)
BF 109 K-4 is worth it. It can kill anything.
Poorly worded statement on my part. I meant that most german mains don’t see it as worth it to push past the Ju-188 or even play fighters at all for that matter, and the me 262 would give them a huge reason to.
I see. That’s probably true. I wish they would fix the FW flight characteristics.
I dont mind the K-4…but I have the G-10 premium so thats what gets used.
we have fuel mechanic in the game, as all planes are forced to take max fuel (which is hours upon hours of fuel) so fuel isn’t an issue
the ROS-82 has 400 grams of explosive filler and they do fuck all, while hvar has 3-4 kilograms of explosive while 21cm waffle grenades have 9.5 kilogram of explosives, so r4m is going to perform more like the ROS-82 for damage which in other words means it’s going to do nothing
would be cool yes but everyone is just going to turn up the gamma as they do with every game that has night battles so it’s going to go to waste so might as well just add them without the night battles and have the NVDs be a toggle to allow us to use it in the buildings that are for some reason darker than a blackhole
You can give him the 3 Experimental Panzerblizts without any problem plus a 500kg Bomb
The 262 in game would be a glorified attack plane. The 30mms/rockets will destroy infantry and tanks, but i’ll take a normal fighter for AA duty. Night battles are fun on the surface but lighting in enlisted, especially dark environments, is a huge issue - if you’ve played Berlin recently, some of the indoor spaces such as the room with mustache man’s office are really dark. I worry night battles will just make this worse.
For your fuel mechanic point yeah, sometimes not having the active timer appearing on screen makes me forget that there is still a fuel mechanic, it just doesn’t mean anything. My bad. However, even if the R4M’s are relatively weak, you still have 24 of them, plenty more than enough to kill a couple enemy squads/a tank if you’re accurate. Also, if you dont want air to air rockets, you could potentially just use whichever variant has the 2 250kg bombs. And if you somehow manage to not kill the tank with your 24 rockets or 500kg worth of bombs, you can still pummel them with 2 30 mils, 2 extra 20 mils depending on the variant, and maybe even a 50 mil if the devs decide to basically add the high tier duck, the me 262 a1/u4.
A night map update would most likely come with better lighting for normal maps, more functioning overhead lights/better light functions, etc. The devs have released a couple lighting updates recently anyways, so another one would probably be fine with most of the player base. Anyways, if the devs can’t figure out a way to make all normal maps not trash with night mode, then they can just selectively add night modes to certain, more outdoorsy maps that work well in a darker setting instead of maps where it being night would just objectively suck.
for starters the good panzerblitz could only be carried by a different prototype jet that is extremely autistic looking, the panzerblitz that was actually tried has a similar performance to the 90mm HE shell from the pershing and that can be questionable without a direct hit and that is with MORE shrapnel that HE gets compared to HEAT warheads (pzb is HEAT btw), and more importantly giving heavier rockets and heavier bombs will make it even more of a brick than it already is with how awful the junkers jet engine hence why the sturmvogel had to get rid of a pair of it’s mk108s so giving it rockets it possibly carry, information is hard to come by so i can’t say it couldn’t carry panzerblitzs at all, it might not even make it for a first strike at all because again how a jet engine differs from props.
tl;dr your suggestion would make the 262 worse than it already is by default
no it’s fine, the timer doesn’t show up unless you take a damage to your fuel tanks which at that point you probably have bigger issues to worry about oh also resupply point also refuels the plane for some reason
luck would also play a huge factor though i am actually curious to the actual shrapnelling of the rockets in question since the most i can find about it is that it’s mostly a concussive weapon which means it uses the blast waves to destroy enemy planes think more like depth charges against submarines.
we could also get a payloadless version to ensure that it won’t be put into the attacker slot so i don’t have to worry about competing with the 188 (this and the fact i want to gun run like an A-10 is why i want a payloadless 262)
or hear me out we can get the the 262 with mk103s, mk108s and the mg151 for the ultimate anti air fighter…it’s engines would still suck though.
so what i mean by “its engine will suck” is that the 262’s engine have to take time to get any speed going and because it’s so heavy it will lose most of that speed and not get it back while a prop could get it back in a minute or 2 because it produces the energy instantly
Ok bro
I Want
