if test is successful, try adding BR5 premium squad into lineup to see what matches you are gonna get.
i am trying this as well and my MM says 4-5 despite the only Br5 being an unnarmed sherman

(I even removed non premium stuff, like engineer for sten squad)
And no luck, I have always seen BR3 stuff in kill feed.
maybe try adding one regular BR1 squad. this seems to be some specific bug that will be nightmare to catch. smartest thing to do is to report this on CBR with replay and clog and have devs sort it out(in half year-year).
there is also possibility that devs are faking console players and this is actually bot account, although not likely.

Ok? We all did just fine with Springfield’s Stuart’s, and M1 Carbine’s vs FG 42’s, Gewher’s, Tiger’s, MG 34’s and 42’s, etc till we got the good stuff of P-47’s, M2 Carbine’s, Jumbo’s, M1 with AT nade, etc
Figure it out. The rest of us thrived in that environment and had plenty of fun destroying the enemy team with basic gear

That is normal, old matchmaking giving BR 3-5, new mm would give BR 2-4
That is just how it works, no problem there.
Bringing “only” one high BR item is leading, doesnt matter if you bring 1 or 100 items, the highest BR counts

Also, what you see is YOUR BR not the BR of the battle which is probably 4-5
It was with the new MM. Just about 3 or 4 Weeks ago.
I dont know why that happened. It was 3 Battles as BR 3 Allies against Japan BR5, but against Axis it was normal Matchmaking. After that it didnt happen again.
japan-USA is only MM that can have BR5 MM for BR3. everyone else should have ±1 MM
Because it is just preferential.
Current MM queues:
- BR1-BR2
- BR2-BR3
- BR3-BR5 (if there’s enough players in matchmaking, this queue can be seperated between BR3/BR4 and BR4/BR5)
BR 3-5 matches are quite common for every faction.

Every post like this, OP says they are BR1 and then sees they equipped a BAR or other BR3 weapon. It’s not the game’s fault.
I posted my current stuff in this post. I’m BR1. Period. The matchmaking is a problem. Period. My win rate is 20% if not less now. Teams are unbalanced skill wise and gear wise. It’s not fun. It’s annoying. It’s like putting an amateur chef against Gordon Ramsey. No fucking chance. This game isn’t going to last long at all if they don’t fix it. Nobody gets into a game to be dominated match, after match, after match because the system puts you against people that have years under their belt and are maxed rank. I’d bet my literal LIFE on these people being in low rank matches JUST to pad their stats against new players. Most of them are HIGH UP in the Ranks, like almost max level. Why the FUCK am I as a new player having to fuck with them? It’s damaging to the game’s longevity. The only reason I have even a SLIVER of fun right now is because I unlocked Radio Operator so I go in with a Radio Operator, Sniper, Engineer, & Anti-tank unit and I play long range because if I actually TRY to defend or cap points, I’m basically on my own because the people on my team just hide in adjacent buildings and let the enemy take the points uncontested. So I might as well stay back and shell and snipe just to get SOME kills for XP.
Relax mate, this is just how things work.
As a beginnner, yes you will meet more experienced players in battle but they will have the same equipment level as you (more or less).

I don’t play level one often, but when I do I never get dumped into matches against any higher then level two. You more then likely have at least ONE level three weapon. The only time I get uptiered two levels is if I play level three Allies and get the Japanese, which is why I don’t play much level three Allies, or I can always bale from the match when I start seeing level five weapons scrolling down the right side of the screen of my level three match. 
But in your case, check all your squads and make sure no one is using a level three weapon. It shouldn’t be hard since you can see the overall BR rating of each squad. I did play a level one game once and got stuck into a level three match and it turned out that my level two plane’s pilot had a level three Thompson. And another game my level two Germans got punked into a level five Russian match, and after cussing DF for a couple minutes figured out that I had a medic squad I had switched their M1 Beretta’s for Kiraly’s to play a few level five matches and forgot to change them back. 
My apologies to DF for all the cuss words I said that they fortunately didn’t hear.

I remember when I started some years ago when we had the old campaign system. I was totally new and only had the “stock” weapons unlocked, but I still managed to get kills and be at least in the top 30-50% of my (and the enemies) team ALL the time.
I faced people which had unlocked everything with my MP40 or K98k, I destroyed T-34s with my short barreled Panzer 4 and I won… and lost. Sure it is hard and you are right that those kind of engagements can be frustrating, but a victory under this kind of circumstances is sweet!
It became better when they introduced the BR-system. Sure you still can face BR3 when you play BR1 and you cn face BR5 as BR3, but it became WAY MORE fair.
I remember my very first match in the old normandy campaign. I only had the Mannlicher or Mauser K98 bolt action rifle and faced mid to high level people with automatic guns. We had to defend, I managed to get over 100 kills and it was fun although we lost.
Practice, practice, practice. Try to get some tactics, how to flank, where to build a rally … and hope, that you get some decent team mates (<-- that is making 50% of a good match).
As you can see below, ranks mean NOTHING.

This game is anything but competitive. Game was always a casual PVP game with a lot of PVE elements.

Is that just an NA server thing or why did I never see BR 5 in my last 20 to 30 ish matches US BR 3.
People bring that up constantly but that just isnt the case in my experiance for the EU server. Or am I just lucky and are only active during the prime time where BR 3 does work?

if you check every other clog you will see that everyone else has either BR2-3 or BR3-4 MM. only USA japan has either BR2-3 or BR3-5 MM.
