[Map] Nuketown Zombies

Zombie speed was increased with the “new” earth shield event, i’m planning to update the mod yes.

However it was put on sidetrack, as it seemed to be less popular compared to other mods, thus becoming a smaller priority for me.

Speaking of that, they just set the max speed of zombie_walk_zombie to the same as zombie_rush_zombie, aka 3.5

Because it is very old and buggy with players not dying.
I bet it will become popular again once you update it

sorry if i came across as rude, it was 1 am but thats no reason to be rude. im mostly fine with the zombie speed, the real issue is the players move speed, because it just takes to long to go around the map, i want to explore, try different guns, but what happens is that by the time i have the money i cant make it between waves.

You weren’t rude, i agree with your criticism. If more nuketown players would come here and leave feedback, then the mod would be even better.

It’s difficult to design a mod without player feedback; You really only can rely on your own experience and preferences.

Due to the size of the map, i’m not planning to make some zombies slower (stupid fast may become slower) but the players faster. All classes will receive a 30% speed increase in sprint speed.

oh man, your amazing. im not gonna lie, i just started doing custom maps a few days back and wow. i am so glad the first one on my radar was this one cause its a BLAST. only issue i have on repeat is people join, die, and quit leaving their bodies, leads to some funny moments of sitting on the hill using them to round up zombies XD. but yeah its amazing. just a idea tho, idk if this is even doable but it might be, anti tank rifles kinda suck but i have had a idea for a PaP one, big gun, and make it shoot a ton of bullets in one shot giving it a weird kind of penetration based on dmg. cause if they have a lot of hp then more bullets are used on one, but if they are weak it goes through a lot. no clue if its even possible just thought it would be cool.

Bullets have two property (among many others) one is for damage and one is for armor penetration based on distance.

I have experimented with a gun that can punch through any amount of enemies but i encountered several problems, mainly balance issues, and it gave too much score.

first one on my radar was this one cause its a BLAST.

hm. i saw one of the pap smg’s shot 2 bullets per bullet. i wonder if you could make the AT rifle shoot like a super accurate shotgun blast? so it looks like one bullet but is many? im just brainstorming here from what i know of modding other games. and also. cant wait for 2.0!

Not actually bad idea, i would admit.
2.0 will have very good improvements, and it will be very fun

I have encountered some problems postponing release;

The new area increased navmesh size so much, it’s lagging the server very hard.

Update 2.0:

  • Added three new characters by @ErikaKalkbrenner
  • Missile silo can now be explored. This increased the playable map area by A LOT. The silo itself is not large, but it has multiple levels underground. On early rounds, it can take minutes for zombies to reach the bottom of this silo if spawned from the furthest spawnpoint. This may be adressed later if possible
  • Now AFK players get removed after 10 minutes.
  • First few rounds have slower zombies.
  • Added several new wallbuys.
  • PaP box is now inside the silo. Have fun finding it.
  • Players are now faster

Known possible issues, and need feedback about these:

  • When inside silo, server may struggle to keep up with navmesh, which will manifest in “Network disrupted” errors.
  • Zombies may try to take routes they shouldn’t when player is inside silo, and zombies are afar.

Found an exploit. By climbing into the debris you will get unfair advantage

It worked well. Had some glitchy trees near the silos entrances but otherwise worked

I joined an ongoing match of nuketown zombies 2.0 and it didnt let me spawn. I was stuck in this bird perspective. I joined the correct team
