Making swords/axes more dangerous

RMB: Slash/Charge
MMB: Slash/Charge
LMB: ???

Allow swords/axes to block using the LMB since it does nothing. Allow them to block both melee weapons and bayonet lunges (maybe bayonet charges too?).

This will make swords/axes more valuable, intricate when being used, and overall more fun.

Melee guns need overhaul:

Knifes should deal more damage but be slower and have bad range

axes should deal a lot of damage and have big range but they should be slower

shovels should deal less damage than knifes but have more range

swords should be superior in every category

bayonets would have biggest range but they would be slower than other melee weapons

bonking would be faster than bayonets but they would deal less damage and they would have less range

It doesn’t work like this

My bad. I meant melee weapons

As a Japanese nerd, they certainly feel like it already lol. Would love to see more dynamic melee swings and animations though

What a perfect time to add in the Chinese and Ethiopian sub-faction with their Daos, Miaodaos, spears, and Shotel swords.

The Chinese even made a patriotic song called the Sword March.

Not just swords and axes could be updated, but shovels as well, each thing with their own use.

Swords:
Allow for melee blocking

Axes:
Allow a wider swing that may do less damage, but would hit a wider area.
(Additionally, allow axes to chop down trees. This is to help with sight lines.)

Shovels:
Not melee combat, but allow dirt to be ADDED to a location to help fill in holes or smooth an area out.

I disagree

Unhesitatingly, First Lieutenant Wilson charged the enemy ranks and fought valiantly, killing three enemy soldiers with his rifle before it was wrested from his hands, and annihilating four others with his entrenching tool.

Shovels already have the special ability to dig. If they would deal more damage no one would use axes

Exaggaration

They need an adequate option to attack. All you can do now is dig up the enemy. Which is very dumb.

I’m a satire. It’s kind of the point of it.

When in Mount and Blade 2 made a skill with which it was possible to reflect bolts and arrows with a two-handed sword, I no longer believe anyone.

… there’s such a mechanics in M&B2???

I find that rather sad…

Let engineers board up windows; then, we will see greater use for them. Also, shovels can not be used when charging, while axes can.
