Making Enlisted a Better Place №32

Each update of “Making Enlisted a Better Place” focuses on a certain aspect of the game or a particular mechanic in which we’ve fixed bugs or have added interesting features.

The improvements are mostly or even completely based on the feedback you have left in the special topics and discussions on our forums and social media platforms.

FAIRER SCORING FOR CAPTURING

The capture point is the focus of the entire team and the center of the most intense battles, and there is a notable reward for capturing it.

But just this detail has not been worked out in a way that suits everyone, commanders. Until now the reward for capturing a point was issued according to a very simple system: a player received 100 points for capturing the zone, and 50 points for any action in the point itself, such as kills and healing etc.

You could get the maximum reward just by entering a point at the last second before capture.

Now we’re making it fairer! Points are now gradually awarded for capturing points — 5 points for every 5% of the point captured, plus 50 points for finally capturing the point. This way the amount of time each player has contributed to the capture point is much more important!

And as a nice bonus, not 100, but 150 points in total can be earned for a complete capture.

REPLAYS ARE NOW AVAILABLE ON CONSOLES!

PlayStation and Xbox players, welcome to our band of fellow creators! The replay mechanic is now fully functional on consoles as well.

Here you’ll find a list of replays and, by using sorting, you can easily navigate through all of your recordings.

DISPLAYING SOLDIER CHARACTERISTICS AFTER PURCHASE

Right in the window where your new soldier appears, their key characteristic levels will now be displayed. You wanted it, we added it!

ENGINEERS BECOME EASIER TO RECRUIT IN TUNISIA

It’s hard to overestimate the help that engineers provide to their team — building rally points alone is worth a lot. They are especially important in the vast expanses of Tunisia — but in this campaign you had to reach the 9th level to unlock this class.

We changed that: now the Axis and Allies get access to their first engineer squad from the 5th level.

Note that if you’re already at the 5th level and haven’t reached 9th, you’ll get these engineers instantly. If level 5 is still ahead of you, enjoy the excitement and get your squads ready for engineers as soon as you can, because we have a special World Engineer Holiday to celebrate in March!

OTHER CHANGES

  • Optimized the mechanism that verifies hits in aerial battles.
  • Changed the star icon for tasks for a certain military rank that aren’t related to Battle Pass progress.
  • The Battle Pass weapon purchase confirmation window will now display the limit on how many weapons can be purchased for the current campaign.
  • Fixed the lack of autodistribution of standard upgrades for starting squads in all campaigns.
  • Completed weekly tasks are now at the top of the list until you claim the reward.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the marker to be offset from the crosshairs when placed as a pilot.
  • Added a reward with battle score for destroying enemy engineer machine guns.

WE APPRECIATE YOUR FEEDBACK!

Lots of exciting game mechanics have been realized or improved thanks to your ideas. We are watching our communities, other Enlisted sites and regularly check the forum for your feedback and reports.

So share, suggest, and report!

Really nice change with capture scoring, conquest just got way better.

I noticed some changes to armoured train, there is a bug where couldn’t build AA gun, there was “You can’t build on railway” even though it was far from it.

@1942786 what do you think about this one? it can be implemented?

Good changes! But isn’t engineer day in march? Or is this something else?

Changes in the right direction.

Scoring logic is literally the main extrinsic factor that encourages players to do certain things. A streamlined scoring logic would encourage players to do the RIGHT things for their team to win. It is an artificial reward system that is absolutely essential in aligning people together (vs intrinsic factors, which are in-game activities players find enjoyable and like doing even at the cost of their very team’s efforts to win).

IMO, you must ramp up on that now a tad more. There is nothing worse than seeing planes aimlessly trying to shoot bombers or other planes “air-lounging” getting more points from a few dogfights than people who are dialed in engineering, helping their teams build rally points, build important structures and play according to the objectives. Killing is fun, but killing in random areas where it does not really matter, shouldn’t be rewarded as much. Shooting around and killing 10-15 dudes cannot be of an equal value as to capturing or defending a point all in.

In a nutshell: Please increase even more (2-4X) the points you reward players who get the highest “A” scores (zone defense/capture) . As that is the essence of the game you’d want to encourage. And call it an awesome and fair battle day.

Awesome changes. Definitely needed the rework for capture points.

I saw some speculation about a stalingrad event. That would be great but this looks like something different.

A great way to encourage people to use engineers for this engineer holiday would be to give all the old premium squads engineers :eyes: @1942786

Tunisia engineer: I wish it came way sooner but it’s better late than never.

Great changes here, I presume that means defending points is untouched or defusing bombs? As for engineer changes, welcomed but slightly late imho.

We’re Hispano’s tweaked, that’s all I care about - my Tempest suffered, as my spits too! Please say yes…

Looking forwards to more good changes :+1:

Hi, I think these are all good changes, but if we are talking about the center of the battles (capture points), I would like to ask if you plan to make a battle mode in which (similar to the confrontation) both teams start equally, but there are maybe no capture points or only one on a large map and the team that loses all of its spawn points first, loses the battle?

I wish that would be possible on consoles, also it would be nice to be able to view the squads in the main menu. PC version already has the possibility

Can anyone tell me what this means? I’m not a native English speaker so I’m having trouble understanding this change, does this mean that everyone in my new squad that I unlock has throws and medpacks?

This right here? This is why I quit War Thunder and switched to Enlisted. The development team responsible for this game actually cares about our experience playing the game, and moreover, they obviously play the game themselves! It should seem like something which goes without saying that the developers of a digital experience should themselves engage in that experience, in order to tweak existing mechanics toward perfection and to figure out what works and what doesn’t. Sadly, that is not the case for every game development staff.

… but it is for Enlisted.

These “Making Enlisted a Better Place” installments? The are great for player morale. They are also great for the bottom-line. They show us why we should be enthusiastic about financially supporting the developers, because they also make us feel listened to. And beyond all of that, they finally show that your team is interested in making this project the best it can be; and that is a big part of what helps breed a healthy, non-toxic community, which is another thing I’ve noticed about this project.

So in closing, I would like to thank the developers and also the communication staff in a general for keeping this very positive chronicle going and for listening to the input of your players, as well as for striving for perfection toward the experience of the game itself. Several in-game issues over the years that I have noticed myself have been incrementally addressed by these “better place” improvement journals, and that is always heartening to see.

I would also like to thank the team specifically for seemingly implementing one of my own suggestions regarding Capture Points! This has been a pet-peeve of mine for some time. And I think I speak on behalf of most of us when I say, “You did the right thing.”

Pro-rated "zone" capture credit/award (based on time in zone) )

Kinda late with the Africa engies but better late than never.
But this means that you can change the grind levels. Interesting

overall good changes :+1:

and glad that engineers are finally earlier than late.
( especially convenient since i have started playing tunisia allies )

which yeah… it kinda took alot of time of putting engys more accessible, but they are finally moved earlier. which that’s good.

hope that will happen for medics as well in other campaigns. but i understand it’s not a priority.

How about update multiplayer mod games support for clientside custom blk loading?

Today is a great day!
Thank you, and keep up your good work.

lol. if they cared so much and played the game, they would have fixed 10vs13 (and its subvariants 10vs11, 10vs12) MM problem long time ago. this is game breaking bug that exists in the game since beginning and has been reported for more than half a year.

That is great to see! I’m very happy to see consoles getting expanded features. Could this mean we’ll eventually be able to launch custom games with user made game mods?
