Make mortars aim like in BF3

Dunno, brave does not equal smart.

They can already do this. I advice you to play the game a bit more.

while I dont think this would be OP, at least the current method forces them to scout which helps out the team.

The other thing with the aiming via minimap feature is that it could be really cancerous on some maps if you just begin pinning single entry doorways under an oppressive wave of flame and fuck my ear holes. (Technically possible now still, but at least it either takes some proper scouting or insanely good map knowledge.)

If it were to be added, I would like to see it added like in BF1 where you need to slow down your rounds or else its inaccurate, so you can either quickly lay down a suppressive barrage or you can take your time to take aimed and accurate shots.

It’s like talking to a brick wall ;_; Yeah they can see where to aim either by complete blind fire, or some tada markers and way points placed by the team…

It’s already possible FFS!!! And no, it doesn’t require any more god damn skill, knowledge or whatever than clicking on a map!!!

And real life is still irrelevant for arcade game.

But should force people to roleplay as recons and spotters where they do not earn XP beyond marked vehicles?

There is no teamwork. Why bother after five years now?

Sure. CoD has working bipods and some guns actually have recoil.

How can they magically see red dots or marks on a map that didnt had marks before?

I feel the same so at least here we agree.

And this won’t change, it will be EXACTLY the same. So what is your problem? That they don’t need to press 2 buttons more? How is this an issue?

  1. I was literally agreeing with you on lead marker removal. I don’t understand this response.

  2. Can’t force them to be scouts either, that’s the whole point of a team. If the team sucks, then of course mortar fire will be ineffective. Equivalent to poor intelligence…

  3. Why bother playing multiplayer if you have hate other people and hate teamwork?

  4. The markers are called out via a radio, you can listen to the announcer when you mark a tank, to me that would be like radioing the mortar team the co-ordinates? No?

I have absolutely no clue how you’re coming to these conclusions.

Oh wow its almost like I exactly stated that it was technically possible… wow…

Also yeah believe it or not, it does take a little more skill to mark a target (Just to rangefind, we all know there is a guy there already.) and then fire vs just pointing at a minimap. Not much more, but just that little extra effort to be put in that stops everyone and their mother spamming them.

with how the points are placed around different maps you can bomb a doorway way easier than dialing in a number on the mortar. In BF3 having a down view made it easy to bomb anything in the open

No? In what world clicking on a map requires less skill/knowledge/whatever than pressing “M” and clicking on a map? I seriously fail to see any skill requirement here.

If you can use the map to aim accurately, you don’t need markers. You’re completely missing the point in how easy it would make a mortar team, you can very easily target and destroy the team with 0 help.

It would be like World of Warships aircraft carriers no? Completely independent operations, and impunity from return fire, no way to even counter it in the slightest.

Am I having a stroke here?

Unless Ive just had a massive brain fart, are you asking “In what world does clicking on a map require less skill than pressing on a map?”

That or Ive just learnt you can scout via the minimap which seems amazing.

Oh my god, you can do that… I had no idea you could place markers on the big map??? Ok well this entire thread has made wayyyy more sense.

I actually apologise, I was the stupid one.

In anyway, that’s utterly insane you can range it like that

Now please explain me how exactly this clicking on the map is superior? Because I need to use scroll wheel and wiggle left-right? (Mortar is less accurate than my aiming btw.)

Yeah I actually had to boot the game and check this. Man I’m sorry, I’ve never seen that before!

Ok, my point of view now is you shouldn’t be able to do that as that’s insanely OP

The point is that realism regarding aiming cant be an argument if plenty unrealistic aiming exists.

So mortars should rely on stupid team? Yeah, no wonder no one plays them.

Why bother trying to pretend this game is a team game when it is clearly not?

Only a shame if there is no radio to hear a marker. And I am pretty sure that this still would not make me see red markers in front of my eyes in real life.
Also, this is not the case rn anyways.

Same applies to yours so I guess we are equal for once.

I don’t agree with this one but feel free to make your own post about this.

No clue why those embed videos never work for me, but yeah my bad completely, I straight up didnt know that was a feature.

Still stand on my point about BF1 style, not the aerial chase camera for the bomblet (which is cool, just a bit OP I think), but how rapid fire lowers accuracy.

I’d be totally ok with that.
Actually I’ll add it to the post.
