We already can do basically the same by placing yellow marker on the map. So why not get rid of unnecessary extra steps?
If this makes mortars too OP, they should be nerfed in some way.
For example like in BF1 where firing makes mortar very inaccurate for a few seconds. (Based on feedback.)
ah yes and you can see enemy mortars, and counter mortar them… Hell no that was so bad.
I hate Mortar Dudes but i can live with current stage because they need atleast marks, or mortars blind.
It would be over powered to have a down view of the map I would suggest a small list somewhere on the screen that list all markers and their range. Lets say there one big marker and a few red ones the list would have the big marker second and all the red markers would be listed by closes to farthest one and the point(s) would be at the very top.
nah but i’m against more HE spam or make it more easier to get kills, i’m against spawn Camping with Mortars or Artillery Spam. It is a punch in the Face for every brave Men which runs to the Capture Point.
Even the Artillery Call should be improved and should be harder to call, this aim and klick shit should be reworked.
Then make mortars weaker? I don’t see why “press 2 additional buttons to use” should be a balance mechanic, it’s simply unnecessary and stupid.
We don’t make gun reload take 2 additional clicks to balance it. Why should mortar be any dfferent?
I don’t recall mortars irl being able to aim independently with a map, I’m pretty sure that DF have them set up so they’re extremely strong when used in conjunction with teamwork. I’ve played with friends before where they’ve marked out enemy spawn points from a distance, or AT guns and using mortars we’ve managed to shell them with devasting effect.
I think it would be silly to make mortars being able to target and aim independently of forward spotters.
I’m saying that being able to have a minimap completely defeats the purpose of teamwork. If you want to dumb the game down to everything should be able to work with one person, in a game built around teamwork it completely defeats the entire purpose of a mortar team.
Again, they can aim independently, but try aiming at an unassuming building, or behind it without a marker or knowing the distance… My point again being that mortar teams don’t just let lose in any random direction, they use forward observers/troops to direct them…
I dont recall people having indicators for planes in planes and AA guns either.
The same devs who dont have voice chats and still struggle to make people build rallies in four years.
Good because teamwork only works with stacks and very few stack.
This game is alreaey dumbed down and played by the dumbest people on Earth to the point where you cannot even demand more recoil for SFs without offending people.
Purpose of mortar squad is to kill people with indirect fire.
