Make damage standardized again

After the recent major update many weapons have their damage values all over the place.
Personally I liked that the damage was somewhat consistent with only a few exeptions so I’d like to have this back.

I think soviet semi auto have been up but maybe I’m misstaking.

I don’t remember numbers but for example previously all semi auto rifles had 12 damage and now some have 13.x some 14.x or something like that.

  • different weapon class than rifles

I actually want

  • all BA do 15 damage base, 20 upgraded
  • all smg 6 damage base, 7 upgraded
  • all semi-auto/SF/MG 13 damage base, 14 upgraded
  • all assault rifle 10 dameage base, 12 upgraded

So no damage based on bullet but standardized on weapon

Exactly that.

You can’t expect all SMGs, that come in at least 3 different main calibres, to do the same damage.

The caliber is only a problem for game balance, some weapons completaly ignore it because balance, so rid out of him is the best choice

I can’t be ok with a PPD, an MP40 and a Thompson having the exact same damage per bullet.

I want standarised damage in the same way it was before. Just different numbers.

so i guess according to some of these people all pistols should do the same damage as well? Doesn’t matter they shoot vastly different cartridges etc just make all things from revolves to magazine fed semi auto do something like 5 dmg lol

this is how you end up with high rof/capacity becoming meta and everything else being useless

You can tweak recoil to make high RMP weapons harder to use. I see no problem.

I just want to avoid situations like in BF1 of H&G where MG42 has damage of a bigger pistol because of high RPM.

so for the sake of arguing this “system” you would potentially have something like a kriss vector have absurd recoil in order to make it fair for other slower smg’s despite the fact the vector is designed from the ground up to magdump at ~1,200rpm quite accurately?

also yes i know im talking about a modern weapon against a WWII context but its just the most extreme scenario i could come up with. This game is not nearly as realistic as HLL and some other WWII titles out there but i appreciate that it largely follows what cartridges various weapons use and balance their dmg around that instead of other completely irrelevant nonsense for the most part
