9mm sten gun with a 7.7 inch barrel does 6.6 max. 9mm MP40 silenced with a 9 inch barrel does 7.2. Erma suppressed in 9mm does 5.5 damage but has a 13 inch barrel.
Theses are vastly different damaged for the same caliber regardless of suppressed or not. There seems to be no logic in it

Is a video game were we shoot ourself, dont so much difference in the end
yeah,this suggestion is great
besides, change back the single-fired-rifle’s damage too
why do a singlefire rifle doing differet damage to a semi-auto ones?
like the k98k and G43,they fire the same bullets, also having same velocity, physically they have no difference.

I would like all of them to have the same damage as bolt-action rifles.
LMGs, semi-autos, BA, SF all 16-24 damage.
however, I don’t like how BA still OHK when you shoot an enemy in the feet. It makes finishing them off for getting melee weapon kills harder.
Things like svt38 doing same old 14 damage (maxed) while svt40 now does 15.8… (no sense)
Same with avs and avt
G41, g43 and Czech semi…
Mp40 got boosted damage… but not mp35/I, nor does the Kiraly…
Ppd38/40 now does DECREASED (!) damage, not ppd40 or ppsh41 which still are fine…
It’s all over the place and NONE of it makes sense at all. They probably just did that for “balans”, but I don’t like it:
It reintroduce power creep! Making later lvl weaponry do more damage even if they’re almost identical, JUST because later lvl?
That’s lazy from the devs.
Bring back damage depending on cartridges and barrel length just as before. Bolt actions are finally in a good place but they broke everything else…

So ppsh with 15dmg as its 7.62 same caliber as moist nugget ?
welcome to standardized damage
Just dont get it why it should be standardized by caliber.
even tho I like the idea of .45 doing +400 dmg.
I really really liked the update. in my opinion, all guns should still get another 20% damage buff…

Well in that case, cant let allies suffer.
Yeah like imagine needing 5 hits on a player +120m away with PPD38/40 when with PPD40 and PPSh it needs only 3 hits!
Unplayable
??? DO I need to remind devs, who was at winning side of war ?
Yes, or are they Nazi-fans?
1 rus soldat = 10 wunderwaffle
Pavlov!!!
SVT38 and SVT40 are main reason why we need malfunction.
Iirc the main difference between them were reliability and logistic/ production adjustments which didnt really affect the stats.
Sadly its a dead horse.
MP38 and MP40 are different story. I find it funny that the description implies that the MP40 shoots faster and most of the time, it had worse dispersion and 0.1 faster reload time. Idk why they didnt just increase the rof but rather increased the dmg.

They truly need to bring back damage based on cartridges and barrel lenght
For everything but BAs that are finally fine.
And about malfunction, I’d love that. I’m always game for stuff bringing the game closer to simulated reality. However if that happens, they should indeed boost the damage of all magazine fed weaponry to compensate (bolt actions DID NOT malfunction thanks to the most simple mechanisms possible, except maybe when hastily loaded stripper clips with janky stressed hands)

Huh Never thought about that. Makes sense.
Only time Ive heard this was when someone wanted all SVTs and Gs strip-reloading, which feels like meme (especially because he never touched the G41).
I would like damage to be based on the weapon characteristics (barrel length, caliber, etc). But I would be okay with some level of randomization to continue, at least if the devs are not interested in differentiating different body hits very much (which I could understand). Only if hits to different areas of the body (with the obvious exception of headshots, already implemented as with most games) did different amounts of damage would I be comfortable with the absolute removal of rng. But rng should be within a relatively small range, as something that decides borderline cases rather than something that is too deterministic.
You can’t standardize damage based on caliber because a 9mm is larger than 8mm, but the 8mm is a longer bullet, and has a larger casing with lots more powder. Caliber honestly means nothing, a good example is Boys ATR vs Pzb 38. Pzb 38 penetrates way better and it’s 8mm, Boys AT is about 13mm and doesn’t penetrate as well.
Caliber honestly means nothing on its own.
