u know that there’s only one arty allowed per team at the same time.
but what if arty squad is given an exception so they can call arty even if there’s already arty called by other player?
just to buff arty squad a bit, u know. lemmino is this good idea or no
they wont as long as people abuse the meta weather that’s planes, fg42, or artillery or mortars any thing that’s abusable they will abuse it.
but yes its good idea considering how planes are abused but thats ok but artillery nope nerfed to being useless
Yes this is a great idea. Radio operator squads should also be a 6-men squad and not 5 as, after the artillery nerf, they became probably the weakest squad-type in-game.
You’re arguing in favor of removing an entire game mechanic and make it worse and less historically-accurate and immersive for everyone because you don’t like it. This is stupid. Artillery was the main source of infantry casualties during world war 2. To not have it in the game would make it just generic trash.
Artillery also requires observers for fire, not just picking a coordinate on a map. As it stands, radio operators and mortar teams can spam across the entire map, without having any real idea where the enemy is located. That’s not historically accurate, or even tactically sound. You’re supposed to use artillery to soften up the target, then assault with infantry. But, again, that requires someone to actually see and verify the target.
Giving radiomen binoculars and making them point the reticule at the location they want hit would be interesting.
Actually, arty would have specified coordinates to fire at (road junctions, bridges, buildings, hilltops, final protective lines etc) depending on what they expected their enemy to be doing. Unaided arty barrages should be less dense (less damaging to the target) but marked targets should get better damage than what is given now (more dense fire concentration). Planes are given SO MUCH more damage than arty fires and in reality, arty was far more damaging that CAS against infantry. Planes have no predators in the game as is, they reload incredibly fast, are difficult to shoot down, and are not penalized for suicide bombing. So let’s nerf artillery!
Your idea in its plain form pushed to the extreme, would result in 10 simultaneous artillery squads in one team, doing 10 simultaneous artillery attacks… That would be hell.
I’m OK with artillery squad having an extra slot with 5 minute cooldown and a separate queue for firing those bonus rounds - so still limited to maximum 2 parallel attacks per team.
Also I’m OK with the idea that a single radiomen can’t call in the yet to implemented smoke barrage, only the squad - so it becomes more useful.
And what I really wish as a bonus for the artillery squad is to be able to call artillery fire on marked tanks and engineer-built objects anywhere on map, even in grey zone, as long as the marker is visible.
I didn’t say remove from the game. Its fine where it is now. Much less deadly but less annoying and constant.
Yes I hate arty I play infantry alot and the concussion effect is annoying. Pre nerf if you had a few determined arty spammers they could ruin the map for everyone so no I don’t want multiple arty players stacking stuff that’s what caused the problems in the first place.
Arty will get smoke barrages soon. We will see what’s that like.
it was literally requested for months that arty needed a big nerf, so your “exception” would just be a reverse nerf.
So However, maybe just maybe it would have been enough to just give each player a massive cooldown instead of the “only 1 strike per team” thing. so that you could basically save your arty strikes as a team and do one massive arty strike when your team struggles to push through.
But anyways, I agree with the majority of the player base, constant arty strikes are a pain in the butt.
And just to be clear, I absolutely disagree with you folks saying the arty squad is the worst squad now!
Arty strikes are still very useful and having a team without any arty vs a team with some dedicated arty guys has a noticeable difference.
Mortars on the other hand are 100% only annoying and contribute nothing to the team, but that’s a different story.
Nope.
First of all H&G is way worse than Enlisted in terms of gunplay, historical accuracy, community and maps (Darkflow added more maps in one year than Reto in six years). Remember Armour 2.0? Its not even close to the bugged hitboxes of tanks and planes we have here.
Nothing can beat Heroes and Generals in terms of awfulness. The sole similiarity are the devs. Both teams are not transparent and community-friendly.
