Make ALL Bipod Bonuses Apply Automatically to Prone

image

Bipods have been janky since the beginning and although it did finally get some attention, It is still a nightmare to use. Sometimes you cant get it to setup, sometimes it undeploys in the middle of shooting, others it sets up but blocks your arc so you cant aim…really frustrating

Its been suggested before and I would like to suggest it again:

Make ALL Bipod Bonuses apply automatically just from being in Prone

*NOTE: to clear up the confusion you can still use without bipod…you can still run and gun if thats all you want

No setup required…Just laydown and go. No connection to the terrain.

Secondary suggestion:

Furthermore, the game obviously recognises when you are in a position to make use of a bipod on ledges and windows (because the tooltip comes up). May I also suggest that The bipod bonuses automatically take effect when the tool tip comes up…again no setup required

Deploy Bipod can just become a toggle on/off to make use of this feature.

Enlisted is far too fast paced to waste seconds trying to get your bipod to work.

I dont think Bipods well ever get the attention to function well. This would probably be one of the easier/practical solutions.

Im not talking about the solothurn specifically. I mean all bipods.

I had mgs in mind, you get great performance from bipod IF it works

Because solothurn recoil on bipod is broken you dont use it anyway. Just prone, like what im suggesting

also, If the new BP is going to be a new trend, Weapons not useable unless prone/Bipod, Bipods needs to be funcitonal…or crash and burn (probably will anyway)

If this is going to be a “trend” on the dev side, it will only confirm that they are totally out of touch with their own game.

I don’t like the idea at all. It would be extremely broken - to have laser guns without any angle restrictions whatsoever.

you can still have angle restrictions applied to being prone…just not attached to the terrain where the slightest break ruins it completely

How’s that supposed to work? I don’t mean vertical.

I think they should just stop focusing so perfectionistically on making visuals more important than gameplay.

That’s the only reason why mounts are getting automatically cancelled. (Same reason why some vehicles don’t have the ability to use personal weapons/binos, or why some MG nests have such limited angles) Because they are trying to avoid clipping, weirdly twisted animations, etc.

That’s realistically the only thing they need to throw away.

But otherwise I would keep the mount mechanics. And I don’t see anything wrong with it.

same as some other games do it. Just go lay on your belly…see how fast/far you can aim left and right and how far…and can you 360 without using your arms (without rolling onto back)…apply

I don’t think I’ve ever used bIpods in this game; what’s the command to use them?

Its mount weapon under “weapons” in controls. I remapped mine years ago…I feel like “B” was default

ok, thanks…

It’s literally displayed on your screen everytime you can mount a weapon.
You don’t even need to dig through settings.

It would be great if they would coppy BF5 bipod mechanics. (I was thinking about making such suggestion too.)
But I expect the game to be shut down before this happens.

Unless they plan to port enlisted into WT as infatry branch of the game. I doubt it happens any time soon. Cross out is much less popular game and they’re still keeping it alive.

More likely, the frequency and quality of updates will only decrease.

well, i kinda did.

but only for the editor.

and even there people :poop: on it.

so… just like the S18 features, not a large portion like it.

because they rather still be in the arcady " type 97 " situation.

where you can do most of it unrealistically.

as in human nature, most are afraid of changes.

( or like AI improvements. we can’t have that. the community do not like the scary AI having half of a brain cell to get you. )

More like, they want to run and gun and are against everything else.
I saw this in BF, I see it here. Sad. We can’t have nice things.

It’s not about change, it’s about fun vs not being fun.

The only thing I find to be fun with ATRs is sniping planes.

New approach to ATRs is simply not fun. Especially when you can always just run around with smgs instead.

I dont see the problem. They can still run and gun. It just gives those that want to use the bipod a viable choice

Im not suggesting a change so radical as forcing needing a bipod…just a bipod that works if chosen

Ah, I was thinking too far ahead.

not even in the editor :skull:

i’m sorry. but that’s very subjective to a very objective problem.

enlisted aimed to be realistic.

and there’s nothing realistic about being able to shoulder fire a 50kg+ anti tank rifle with no difficulties.

i for once, apreciate the attempt of porting a new mechanic onto anti tank rifles.

as it goes for planes… not really the anti tank rifle’s job.

which you could still technically do. but requires more effort.

with that being said, we don’t have to worry about that anymore either way.

Maybe 3 years ago. Now it’s too little too late.

Just so you understand. I don’t care if they eventually change all the ATRs so they can’t be used without bipods. I’ll just keep ignoring them.

It’s not like I’m shooting down planes with ATRs every other battle. I only have those event ATR squads in my BR1 lineups that are I rarely play. And that’s it.

But it is completely delusional to think that majority of people playing enlisted will be excited about similar changes.

You will just see even less ATRs on battlefield. And eventually people will demand AT launchers to be lowered to BR1.

If you think otherwise, you’re completely out of touch with the Enlisted community.
