so, with the latest update, a new and cool feature has been introduced.
and that one is
"gun__bipodMandatory:tag"{
}
it essentially:
-
slows down the user
-
makes the user unable to aim or fire if not using the bipod system
which it’s great.
howerver, it’s less than ideal because you cannot:
-
hipfire
-
reload if not bipoed
so, my main suggestion would be to get a similar, yet slightly improved/better version.
which could be then used for anti tank rifles or machineguns in our mods.
ideally, this improved system would still force players to use the bipod to be more accurate and aim downsight, but also:
- being able to reload the weapon in a non bipod position.
but doing so, the user must be stationary throughout the whole reload animation.
they can however interrupt the reload by switching to any other weapon.
and the reload will either continue from where interrupted, or restart from 0.
- being able to hipfire but not being able to aim down sights while standing
( as for example, historically, you could use machineguns in a hipfire position, but near impossible to use them while aiming and standing. mainly the cal30, mg34, mg42 etc etc )
it would be great to get an additional parameter to tweak the recoil for when being in a stand up position. but not affect the bipod overhall recoil. but that could be… a bit hard to do.
but that’s pretty much it.
a visual example would be, red orchestra 2:
or this other video.
not to use it to the extreme, but you get the point.
why ?
well, it would allow those who seek realism to put this improved version in their mods this neat feature.
and well… we can’t really change how these type of behaviors works on our own…
so it’s why i’m making a suggestion.
