Machine Gunner 1 & 2 "Squad Upgrade" Suggestion

So if you play machine gunners you’ll notice the squad upgrades on the right side give you the choice between 2 engineers or 2 radio operators or 1 of each

how about changing one of those radio operators to an assaulter because you really don’t need 2 radio operators…

Take an engineer? Like, it’s a game wining class!
Also if you want to use MGs properly you need engineers (unless you play with BAR). Personally I use 2 engineers and I won’t swap even one of them for a radio guy.

And if you want to change class then certainly not an asaulter. This squad is already good enough, it doesn’t need even more full auto weapons.
I would give them a mortar tbh, MGs are meant to play deffencivelly (except BAR) so are the mortars so they should fit nicelly.

i find my MG’s need no ammo box usually… i just use large ammo bags and i end up with like 200 rounds per gunner

200 rounds is nothing if you have a good spot.
Also ammo box is not the only building worth your time. Sandbags are good to create a nice firing position, even in buildings, and of course a rally point that is literally the way to win a match.

because it allows you to get both.

you can always use a radio operator and an enginner. both classes are usefull.

especially if smoke barrage will be available for everyone ( although we don’t know ).

still, you can lock areas with frag arty.

you don’t need more automatic weapons in the machinegunner

iv got 2 squads of engineers for building rally points :cricket::cricket::cricket:

but truth be told i do use the engineer as spares on my gunners its the radio operator i rarely use iv got both engineers on my 1st gunner squad just cause using a radio operator with gunners is just suicide unless your camped in the middle of buttfuck idaho

but then your semi useless without a sniper anyways cause your always spamming “need enemy location”

you would still be able to get both but you’d also be able to get 1 more class of soldier… :unamused: digest the words ima typing… replace 1 of the radio operators on machine gunners squads with assaulter’s

you would be able to select these combinations
Engineer - Engineer
Engineer - Assaulter
Radio Operator - Engineer :point_left: see can still get both…

Idea of replacing 2nd radio is good but the idea of giving an assaulter is bad. This squad is already great and is at 2nd place in terms of ammount of full auto weapons, it doesn’t need more.

idk i think it would be really well suited to the squad 3 mg’s 1 smg and either a radio or hammer… and adding an AT Gunner to it just feels mehh because it already has the choice between sniper or AT below…

Imo mortar will work well, at least for MGs with >30 rounds in mag.

mortar would just be wayyyy to savage… you’d be able to swap up between mortars to call in radio strikes in the grey zone

So maybe arty vs mortar and sniper vs engineer and AT vs engineer?

i feel like an assaulter would just balance the squad out, when running a radio operator on MG’s your usually always using the sniper to spot and that requires an engineer with an ammo crate so your squad setup is
Engineer, Radio Operator, Sniper
now if your running an AT gunner with MG’s you usually just take all engineers since they’re better in close quarters…

the reason im thinking “assaulter” is because instead of running 2 engineers you could switch it up to 1 engineer and 1 assaulter since they are both CQB orientated

and in either case your not using 2 radio operators ever… since there’s no real benefit to having more then one radio operator

well, as pretty much said,

the gunner squad do not need an assaulter.

assaulter isn’t a serious soldier though they have cheaper equipment and in battle are closer to common infantrymen so its not outrageous

submachine guns were cheaper guns in ww2 then even the standard issue Springfield rifles you get by default with every soldier

Problem is that giving MG squad an assaulter is a buff of an already strong squad. I would preffer to give it more utility than more dps.

its not any different that basically every other squad… most other squads you get a choice of 3 different classes of soldier… and for the squads that only have 2 choices on their branches each is usually a different 2 classes of soldier

Machine Gunners are quite literally the only squads to get screwed with the choice between 2 engineers or 2 radio operators

every other squad usually cycles between Engineer or Radio Operator and Assaulter or AT Gunner

also it would be great to have more utility i agree… if the Mechanized Utility Squad existed…

would love to be able to spawn with a light vehicle for my squad in maps other then tunisia…

Nice and all but you don’t adress the problem of buffind a great squad.

well you can already equip 2 engineers that can use M2 Carbines that are basically SMG’s for all intensive purposes…
why not just go the full step and change 1 potential Radio Operator to an Assaulter… like shit you were asking for a fuckin mortarman which is 10x more powerful…

I forgot that M2 and FG42 are issued to everybody in this game and you reminded me :neutral_face: :gun:
