yea sure 1 radio operator is useful… but 2 spare radio operators is useless… what you gonna do run around with a m2 and m1 carbine… the fucks the point of the m1 when you got the m2

Speak for yourself. In the style of my game, I use them offensively. In fact, MG squads are my crossing power, both in CQC at medium distances and over long distances.

We jus all have our own style of play.

MGs are enough on their own. I run 3 machine gunners and 2 engineers all the time. Engineers are far more useful than stupid ass 3 minute cool down radio operators

In reality, 9 times out of 10, a good player will come to you right away with another of his squad, because after the first surprise, the kill cam will reveal your spot.

Because of this, I always try to do damage in one corner and suddenly move to another place, thus confusing the opponent, and pushing him further.

Imo german MGs are the best used deffencivelly. But it might be caused by my incompetence in CQC.

By spot I meant several prepared firing positions (if I had time to build them :frowning_face_with_open_mouth:). Even changing to a window on a left / right is enough to deal with that problem.
Or you just shoot first, works for me most of the time, even for snipers.
Also good players are rather scarse.

Bigger threat are players that take a tank to make a revenge. It’s a cause of about 75% of my deaths at my firing positions.

This one is actually true.

But this is an easily fixable problem, as such players just waste other teams resources, on those revenge fights, as the tank is destroyed either by other soldiers in the area, or by myself, already hoping for that.

Usually my teams have a huge problem to destroy M5 so good for you I guess.

Yes, unfortunately nothing you will do with those people who throw nades into tanks but not explosion packs :slight_smile:

…but do you ever use 2 radio operators in your MG squad… is the point of this thread…

i know iv used 2 engineers in my MG squad and iv tried 1 engineer and 1 radio operator in my 2nd MG squad but as for 2 radio operators… i don’t even have 2 radio operators in my fucking radio operator squad…

In the current style of the game, if there is no other choice, I would use an engineer over radio operator all day everyday

exactly which is why it makes no sense for there to be 2 radio operators on the machine gunners squads, Assaulter is the ideal class to replace the 2nd Radio Operator spot on Machine Gunners… Mortarmen or Flametroopers would be too OP and no squad has them for an available sub troop so those are out of the question, and there already is a Sniper/AT Gunner spot at the end of Machine Gunners soo the only class that remains is Assaulter…

like honestly im not even suggesting assaulter because i like the class… im more of an engineer/sniper… the reason i suggest assaulter is because it just so happens to be the only other applicable soldier class…

in other words Assault is the last pick for dodgeball… you don’t get it cause you want it you get it cause that’s what your stuck with

But I guess it’s done because five machine guns and two engineers sound a little OP, per squad. Given how powerful this can be in the hands of a good player ect.

It’s hard to say what would work best in this case. Because if we can already have a full squad of engineers with FG-42 weapons, then the squad building system requires a complete overhaul if you ask me.

i just take a look at every other squad in the game… its engineer/radio and AT Gunner/assaulter final sub soldier is usually always sniper/AT Gunner/Machine Gunner

Sub Soldiers are

  • Assaulter
  • Engineer
  • Radio Operator
  • AT Gunner
  • Sniper
  • Machine Gunner

I’d ask you reconsider reworking the machine gun group.
Reworking the final at/ sniper choice to assault / sniper/ at would be and interesting option
You could also make the radio/ engineer choice more interesting by making the second choice engineer/ radio/ at / mortar
As a balance you could remove 1-2 men from the squad.

This would encourage players to run 2 machine gun sections one offensive one defensive.
