M1/M2 Carbines, more specifically. If not the M2 Carbine, definitely the M1 Carbine, as that was commonly used by Western Allied backed Partisans

I agree, M2 carbine should just be an assault weapon anyway
Although I question the balance of allowing Allied guerrillas to use an assault rifle, whereas other factions can only use SMGs

The M2 is more of an assault rifle than anything else
Guerrillas can only use smg’s, shotguns and rifles, so it wouldn’t fit them

Technically, it’s still counts as a semi auto gun kekw
In game it’s used exactly like an SMG
And ironically, as I’ve said, the russian ones can use the Fedorov, which is not even an assault, but a full on battle rifle basically
Soviet guerrillas can’t use the fedorov, just rifles, smgs and their one shotgun

Not stat wise.
M2 damage 8.8, velocity 560, rof 750
30 cal Thompson damage 8.2, velocity 560, rof 980
Normal SMGs do way less damage than that.
9mm damage is around 6.8-7.2
7.62mm has around 6.3-6.7
Thompson were heavily buffed up in game to compete with StGs. Realistically 45.acp should have it’s damage around 7ish something.
Not that I mind since they are at least unique.
Anyway, M2 carbine is an automatic carbine (select fire to be precise) firing 30.carbine rounds. There aren’t any partisans that have acceas to automatic guns firing anything longer than pistol cartridges so it doesn’t matter what you think about the M2 carbine is closer to.

Just remembered something:
Let’s be honest: between PPS-43, PPSh-41 (or the 717r), Kiraly or high BR Berettas…the M2 Carbine is still the “kinda mid” option. It’s just the least bad SMG USA has in the TT.
The situation is so sad that even in BR5, the best SMG you can ever get is the event only Lanchester 50
I guess I’d be happy too if US got some usable high tier SMGs one could use instead of the 17th century bombard of a Thompson. Or if the actual assaulters could use the M2 Carbine so I can reuse the Lanchesters
