LMG’s need a massive overhaul. For a game that prides itself on it’s realism, especially with weapons, this is the most unrealistic Battfield/Call of Duty style thing I’ve ever seen - people just running around with a massive LMG like it’s a piece of paper, hipfiring with higher accuracy than an aimed bolt-action rifle. It’s just dumb and if there was one thing that single-handedly ruins the game, it’s this. If we wanted high-accuracy no-weight LMG corner campers we’d play BF V.
Similar story with knife. Knives serve no real purpose. All they do is encourage 8 year olds to run around with them stabbing everyone because they think it makes them good at the game. That is their sole function thus far. With the melee upgrade perk, you can one-hit enemies certainly into downed state so it’s useless - people in downed state can be one-hit melee with your rifle anyway so it’s useless there - and half the time it takes two hits with a knife to bring someone into downed state, the same as hitting with your rifle, so it’s almost useless there too. And it takes time to get out where as melee with your rifle doesn’t (is just one quick mouse press). Knifes are literally useless for normal players, a dream for toxic children. All they do is just take up a keyboard number slot to switch weapons between.
LMG is quity deadly, knifes are interesting two, if you get inside a building full of bots. then become jason kicking ever one ass.
LMG could be nerfed whith less acurracy has recoil gets bigger and bigger. still nice to have more bullets in compesation for that, so it become a Supresing tool, instead of a automatic sniper rifle.
Knifes are more than fine, you can one shot people easely. It is about 4 times as strong as the melee from the rifle. Everything you said about knifes is 100% inaccurate and fictional.
It has literally never taken 4 melee hits with a rifle to down someone in my experience, so I’m not really sure how accurate the “4 times as strong” statement is.

And if you have that perk, it also makes rifle melee 1-hit as well, making switching to the knife a waste of time.
The point is knives don’t really serve a purpose but for 3 year olds who think it’s fun and skilful to run around the map knife-only - which just ruins the game.
You forget attack speed. You forget that with the melee perk and without the hp perk on the enemy it is an instant kill with no down. So yes I stand with my 4 times as good for sure.

I doubt players are running around with knives only because they are “3 year olds who think it is fun and skilful.” Sure, such people might exist, but the main (and mostly only) reason why you are seeing that occasionaly is melee kills battletask. Alternative is to complete this task after multiple battles (if you are lucky), or change task and risk you are going to get something far worse.
I support this post, LMGs are way too easy to use. It should require a lot more skill to use LMGs with hipfire because of the recoil, and the recoil should make ADS only viable for 1-2 round bursts if unsupported. Additionally there needs to be more recoil / push when full-auto with setup on bipod.
I would like some more variation with melee weapons too, it isnt a myth that Germans in ww2 would sharpen their spades for melee confrontations which did happen quite commonly in large soviet assaults.
Just a quick thought - to make this game less call of duty-like remove ability to shoot while jumping/in the air or reduce jump shooting accuracy drastically. However not sure if it’s really needed, in this game this is an option, in cod everyone did it everywhere.
But i disagree about knifes and lmg’s. Both are pretty realistic and cool, it would be nice if they also added sapper showels as melee weapons, they were also used for melee combat. Hip fire isn’t anything extraordinary, for silly running knife players I never have problems taking them out, most lucky ones only kill a couple of my bots.
Going on a melee spree inside a building isn’t THAT far fetched; what’s gimped is bots’ reaction time to a single guy slashing through the entire squad.
I don’t understand your complaint about knives. You say they are useless but at the same time complain, that children use them a lot. Why do you care? Normally, people get upset about weapons, that are too strong.
I think knives are good the way they are. If anything, rifle bashing should do less damage, unless you hit someone in the head.
I have more questions about fireing AT rifles while standing. You can shoot mgs while standing. It’s hard to hit people at distance, but at 10 m range with a mg it’s hard to miss, even while standing upright. It’s harder while walking and while runing you can’t shoot any weapon in this game.
