As you can see the current Johnson in game is fully fictional since it never had such rate of fire the actual rate of fire was 200 and the high rate of fire Johnson is model M1944 that was the high rate of fire Johnsons:
This is the version of the Johnson that had high rate of fire none of them where used during World War 2. Only the standard model M1941 was used that had a standard rate of fire of 200. The M1941 Johnson LMG was designed with a fixed rate of fire, which could be adjusted by the operator through mechanical means. The adjustable nature was more about the weaponâs intrinsic design that could be altered by changing components, rather than a setting on the weapon itself. So in difference of Type 99 that rate of fire can be adjusted by hand by switching the gas port the Johnson needed special tools and was unable to adjust it in combat. The Gasport adjustment is not a standard feature and adjusting it in combat in difference of Type 99 LMG is absolutely impossible while on Type 99 you just need to turn it left or right to the desired gas port and here is the Jonny gas port:
All the realism in this game is only applied as a tool for the allies to nerf the Axis nations while for the allies there is no problem firing magical weapons and same like the magical stinger 200 roundsâŚ
And this is the true face of the game Allies BIAS when it comes to their weapons there is no problem being magical when it comes to Type 99 rate of fire that got nerfed and it can be adjustable by hand btw was absolutely necessary for the allies to make it. @Greyparrots@ParaDivision Do you see their double standards they nerfed 99 rate of fire becouse it was shooting slower on gas port 1 while you can change it by hand on Gasport 5 while to the Johnny its not even possible to change it in combat⌠and only the late war had this insane rate of fire âŚ
ââ A gas-operated firearm like the Type 99 light machine gun fires faster on a larger gas port because more gas pressure from the cartridge is directed to cycle the bolt This increased pressure acts on the piston and bolt assembly, driving it rearward faster and stronger, which in turn increases the cycling rate of the weapon and allows it to fire more bullets per minute."
Return the rate of fire to type 99 or use the same standards for other weapons. Since guess which one is more realistic to change in combat:
If the Johnson lmg gets nerfed will you give up on insisting that the type 99 should get a rpm that it was never used in?
But putting the argument aside I think nerfing the Johnson like this is actually a good idea, because currently the Johnson lmg is in a awkward position but with 200-300 rpm and a 20 round mag it could fit comfortably into br2, and if 1 bar variant gets nerfed into br2 as well this would be a huge win.
the problem is it aways happens with axis weapons and never with allies. when it comes to realism its applied as a tool to nerf axis equipment and not the allies same was with the stinger 200 round mag they will not nerf the Johnny at all⌠just watch.
I agree with you on this, the stinger having a black hole magazine is bs.
As for the type 99, I also want to see it have a purpose but perhaps if it got itâs scope or if it or the type 96 got downtired them both of them would have a use
the scope is the best solution but they cant do even that and they dont understand even that changing the ports changes the rate of fire ⌠since they dont get what im explaining them. Its not the first time happening you are too green to know the allies bias that is happening in this game for yearsâŚ
I can see that there is inequality amongst the factions but I donât think itâs because the Devs are hell bent on the axis being crippled, I think the Devs are slow to balance things and just donât play the game enough to understand the state of it
Well just wait till they nerf the ZB and the King Tiger for âârealismââ but nothing on the allies side will be touched and just remember this topic. Like the Meteor unrealistic turn rate⌠that has nothing to do with realismâŚ
Itâs a good deal, but I doubt theyâll do it, as theyâre too lazy to add new weapons to the allies and a BR2 LMG at the end of the research doesnât look good.
You are confusing the technical rate of fire and the practical rate of fire, in the case of the latter the time for reloading and aiming is taken into account. The same BAR M1918 A2 has a practical rate of fire of 150 rounds per minute, that is, approximately similar data for the Johnson machine gun.
Of course, the Johnson M1941 and Johnson M1944 machine guns have differences, but for the most part, when upgrading the machine gun, the internal automation has hardly changed, and those changes would rather increase the reliability of the machine gun (changes in the automation), rather than change the rate of fire. For this reason, the Johnson M1941 in the book âJohnson Rifles and Machine Gunsâ (this is probably the best source on Johnson weapons) has a rate of fire of 550-600 rounds per minute.
But I havenât seen any information about a rate of fire of 900 rounds per minute anywhere other than in Internet articles, and if the weapon could be adjusted to such a rate of fire, it was most likely rarely used.
I also think that in your video the weapon shoots at a rate of fire of about 500 rounds per minute.
To understand what a rate of fire of about 550 rounds per minute looks and sounds like, I present to you a video of firing from Type 99 machine guns.
In fact, the Johnson M1941 machine gun looks very weak at 4 BR now. I think it can be reduced to 550-600 rounds per minute and made 3 BR.
How many times I must repeat myself here is a video from a dog tag the test is frame by frame 700 rate of fire this means the Japanese soldiers is firing it on position 3 or 4 on the gas port:
thatâs a cyclic rate of fire im not confusing nothing the standard Johnson M1941 has 200 rate of fire if you dont change the gas port you can take 100 maybe 200 if you change it but im sure its 100 since the late model also gets only 100 more after changing the gas port.
I need to repeat same sentence like 100 times:
ââ A gas-operated firearm like the Type 99 light machine gun fires faster on a larger gas port because more gas pressure from the cartridge is directed to cycle the bolt This increased pressure acts on the piston and bolt assembly, driving it rearward faster and stronger, which in turn increases the cycling rate of the weapon and allows it to fire more bullets per minute."
Here is the video here its explained best go to other factors:
yes faction favorite
br4
sa rifle absent
smg pathetic both belong at br3
mg pathetic even as is belongs at br3/ nerfed to 200 rpm at br2
both sa sniper rifles belong at br3 not just one
which germany needs a scoped sa rifle
yeah the us sure is a favored faction just not at br4
Well thats the thing about Type 99 and Johnson is that their rate of fire depended on the gas port so they can be balanced and will be historically correct on eany rate of fire for Type 99 550 - 800 and for Johnson from 200- 600 (or 500 cuz im not sure what modification for the gas port reached the frontlines). So for sure M1944 had more rate of fire since it never reached the frontlines so the maximum rate of fire for M1941 will be lower on the max gas port.
You just made a weapon that was playable but not suitable for BR unplayable. Why would I use a weapon with a slower fire rate than a semi-auto? It doesnât even shoot as fast as I pee. Why shouldnât I just play with the Vickers-Berthier?
