but i don’t see why people would want dumber AI when the entire game is made about AI.

No one in the entire gaming industry has ever done a good AI. Its why people play multiplayer games. To play against real people with real flaws and skills especially in the FPS world. The least AI there is the better. The AI is always too good when it shouldn’t and too bad when it should. Giving them more power/intelect/responsibility is just gonna inflate the problems. Best solution is to make the AI just a lemming who do direct commands. No precoded self decision actions because that will be same as hacking bots. And that just leave real bad taste if players. And ends up as dead game. Or you playing with everyone else being AI bots.
This. AI improvements should be the priority instead of pumping out weird proto weapons just to add more content.
