I’ve only gotten that far once or twice, but what i’ve noticed is that it suffers a little of what the first point’s issue was, but not nearly as bad. Usually the defenders post a tank by the riverside, where it can spray advancing infantry pretty well, but there’s a lot more cars and stuff in the way, which is nice.
The defenders seem to stick a little behind the point, rather than spreading out and denying the front area like the first point.

there was tons of cover for them, they have the trains, the rubble of the leftmost building, and the fortifications and detritus along the back of the point.

I think not if they insert a maximum time like on RS2 the pre build mg nests are more than enough I think that a smart player is able to build additional defenses

As for the map, the OP is 100% on point for the issues with the first cap, but also like @67929529 pointed out, this map like many others in Berlin lacks sufficient prebuilt defenses on a number of it’s caps.

German main: well you see there’s a lot of variables that aren’t currently modeled in game that make the Germans sooooo good. Quality krupp steel, heat treated and tempered with volendrung was literally never penned by a T34.

There’s not enough time. You lose a point and the enemy is already at the next one by the time I respawn or fallback.
I main engineers and there’s just not enough time to prepare much.
The thing is, the time between caps is often insufficient to build up defenses on caps. And if they’re defensive fallback points, there should be defenses built there already, shouldn’t there?
Spawn at first point
immediately get shot by invaders because they spawn within LOS of first point.
Lose point
respawn at new point
Immediately get shot by invaders who are in LOS of second point.
I guess one of my main problems is that the devs need to decide whether they’re being historical, or whether they’re changing the game for the sake of balance. Somewhat ahistorical stuff is fine, but you have to give the other people ahistorical stuff to keep things fair. Either you’re balancing things for gameplay or you’re making a simulator, you can’t really do both.
I’d rather them slow things down and be a tad more realistic. (ie. delete bunny hopping, dropshotting, auto weapons spam)
but the OBT crowd seems determined to make this into another F2P calladooty game.

No i today played with a group of same german player in church invasion map before the first cp fall they go in the second cp and build defense so after the first fall the second is a fortress to conquer, if pre build defense have to exist they have has placed only in the first cp max for the second for the rest is a player job, this is caused only for an Extreme lack of cordination and an enourmous necessity of kills for xp
