Oh boy. Do I have some opinions on Lehrter-Banhoff’s invasion mode.
I’m gonna get all the ‘hurr germonny suffers’ and ‘waaaah russkie gun too good’ shit out of the way, since this really doesn’t have anything to do with that directly.
Lehrter-Banhoff’s invasion mode is without a doubt, the WORST map i’ve seen in enlisted, and might well be the worst map i’ve seen in a shooter for a long long time. Lemme illustrate real quick.
This is a screenshot of L-B. Pretty straightforwards. Now lemme explain why this is important. My post is really only about the first point of LB, since it’s the biggest offender.
Here’s a short little pic i made illustrating some of the issues. The first point on L-B is almost IMPOSSIBLE to attack. Every single feature of the first point is stacked against the team invading.
You take your tank, drive forwards 10 feet, and directly on your left is a t-34. The ONLY strength of the Pz. IV is its very nice optics, it’s supposed to be far off from the opposing tank where it’s got a chance to make up for it’s flat armor and no turret drive.
Here, the T-34 can either shoot you first or tank your first shot nearly 100% of the time. It gets so bad that the tank spawn is just CHOKED with dead tanks, you can’t even get out. And you can’t go around either, since theres trains in the way.
All the base spawns are really bad too, the riverside one being the worst. The enemy team can get their tanks into a spot that shoots right into your base spawn with little to no effort, and just pour MG fire in while you just sit there and die.
Wrong. Allied tanks don’t spawn there. Also 80% of the matches i participated this point is captured by axis in like a minute after the game starts. Would be interesting to see competent allies vs competent axis there.
Germans have a massive advantage with Planes here against Soviets. I get up to 250 kills on my best game here. this is the only map that favours the Germans massively. Theres no cover for the Soviets in bombing until the last point.
The first cap is very bad designed. If the attackers dont get it in the first 2-3 minutes good lack passing it later.Very unbalanced map. As soviets as long us to build a forward beacon in the first cap you can easily win the game without even needing to defend the second one
they spawn at the end of the street, unless they’re magically teleporting there within 10 seconds of spawning. A t-34 has been the first thing i see looking left out of spawn every single time i’ve been unfortunate enough to play LB Invasion
I mean, i tried to say at the beginning this isn’t a ‘germany suffers’ post, it’s just about bad map design. The rest of the map is kinda okay, but the first point is crazy. Maybe we could’ve pulled it off with a better team, we got to the 3rd point, but we lost so many on the first that it was a moot point.
Tbh i had matches as Soviets where the Germans couldnt even pass the first point. It was such a carnage for them. The first point is very problematic indeed
I’ve been on this map and the German team never left the first spawn. They got spawn camped the entire time. This pic is me the second I spawned in, already suppressed and under fire.

once they set up a tank down there, or an MG nest, or whatever, it’s really impossible to get at. Can’t build an AT gun, can’t get a panzerfaust or detpack up there, and you certainly can’t drive a tank over. Even if it wouldn’t be shot to shit on the way there.
