This shouldn’t even have to be a debate. If I’m unlocking a rifle that was only issued to soldiers from a different country, then the squad we unlock should be from said country. The United States of America, United Kingdom, Canada, Free French Forces, and others took part in the liberation of france.
This would also give us the opportunity to have squads which offer different cosmetics and add more variety in-game. We could have generic looking infantry squads from the United Kingdom and Canada, as well as Paratrooper squads (I don’t know or care if parachuting mechanics will be added).
British Infantry: Ideally a British infantry squad would be unlocked with the Lee Enfield Mk.I and the Bren Mk.III
Free French Forces: Frogs should also get the MAS-36 and possibly a MAS-38 as unlocks. I’m sure some of them were brought over to the United Kingdom when many soldiers were evacuated during the Battle of Dunkirk. Funny enough, in this picture you can see the French are using M1 Thompsons and Browning Automatic Rifles.
You get the idea, at the end of the day we should still be able to deck out our squads however we please. This logic should also apply to the Axis as long as there’s enough historical accuracy to back it up. If you notice any inaccuracies in my post, please state them.
I like that idea.
It shows that WW2 was not just about US, UK and SU vs Germany. Other nation squads should totally be a thing in Enlisted, and they would be perfect opportunity to present some other weapons.
Those weapons are in because they are being tested for Tunisia I believe,
The Mas36 was used by Germany as the they carried on production for use with reserve and security forces.
But then again, some weapons never saw service but are in the game because its easier that applying something above. Such as the Hyde that never saw service or the Feldgenderarmie who rarely saw frontline fighting.
Trouble is, the invasion of Normandy was so spread out that having Biritsh, American and Canadian forces in one match wouldn’t be realistic because in reality all fought in different areas of the campaign.
It had real political sway that caused problems for Germany that could have been avoided if Germany had absolute control over it like is claimed. Also evidence that Germany only occupied France in order to fight Britain, and not as a permanent conquest.
Vichy France and Italy bickering over territory ultimately hurt the German war effort a lot because it led to Italy invading Greece and needing to get rescued by Germany.
