Hey, Soul. Let’s disect it. Is a player always a brick to his team if he sits in his vehicle and has a high K/D? Is it possible that he might just be good at it and helpful to his team? Because in your example, it was either your way or high K/D = can be a brick.

I do not generalize your comments. You are not as agressive as others, and you certainly have your own youtube channel so you at least have an aura of civility about your comments. Still you do lob insults, and you started it first. Which was puzzling - I’d expect a fellow content creator to be more reserved. I get it - another set of qualities matter to you. But your bundle K/D for some reason into this useless category because to you in CAN be a brick and you admire people who are jack of all trades. Having that opinion is not wrong, but to dismiss a stat as useless is below someone whose streams I’ve watched. Just saying.

P.S. As not to sound as I’m derailing KD is definitely not the most important stat I kinda agree with @120062891 statement on what can be considered as important.

If you took anything I said as an insult that is because you choose to be insulted.
I didn’t swear. I didn’t call you names. I didn’t degrade your intelligence.

You have put words in my text that were not there.
You made assumptions based on your personal interpretation of my posts.

That is all on you and your core beliefs being challenged.
That is literally how the brain works. We see things as we want to see them because we have blocks in our head that defend our core beliefs. And you literally took everything I said as an affront to that both then and now again.

When I say can. It is a variable. Not an absolute.
Planes and tanks have their places. But, if that is all you know, when you get stuck on a board or point where they are not helpful, then you become a detriment to your team.
And that is the fundamental principle that I was putting across both then and now.

You need to be situatuonally aware of the battle, and be able to be adaptive to change gears and do something else instead.
Using any one metric for success is a fundamental flaw that cannot be stressed enough.

I just finished a match on the Berlin Train station where 2 enemy players stayed in tanks on a destruction match. It was the wrong place to bring a tank in. And they did it anyway. Had they added their collective weight of squads to the mix, we may have lost. If all they do is that, and have a 6 to 1 KD/R but 50% win and no engineering points, are they good player?

This game does not punish death like other games, and that means while KD/R might be a good indicator for somethings it is not a key prerequisite to meaning you are going to help your team win.

This game needs to be measured by all the factors , of which at least 3 are not even itemized in the stat page but are vital indicators to your contribution as a team mate.

Death is going to happen. There are so many things to kill and you are purposely funneled into kill boxes . It cannot be avoided. You cannnot with without playing the objective. Which means your gonna die.
A lot.
And as previously stated the BOTs have the worst pathing and awareness at times. You can be wiped out because they all run into a corner and die to a grenade all because of their programming.
How is that fair to judge against?

And, to correct you, former content creator.
Since Feb. 24th my sole purpose is helping Ukraine.
A much better way to spend my energy than posting silly videos of me playing a game online, that benefits no one.

Wow varied responses and I understand everyone’s opinions and I know that it is very varied I just wanted to see what people thought of as good games a lot of the time I play as an assault squad kitted up with demolitions to take out tanks and stuff to suppress and push back sometimes when I want some fun I’ll drive around in a tank but recently I’ve been trying to level up different squads and I’ve been working on my mortar team which has been quite fun learning how to use them properly and calculating distances and hoping for the best

I love the fact that this game I not solely devoted to high k/d ratios I was just curious

Honestly did not expect this I was just curious I know there’s a lot that goes into this game as far as support roles etc. I just did not realise people would start an argument over this I just wanted to know as no one else I know plays this game and I was curious at weather or not I personally was doing okay I always seem to be in the top 3 on the score board and I’m always pushing to clear areas and a lot of the time my squad is gone and I run out of ammo and pick up dead mens guns to keep the fight :rofl:

There’s nothing wrong in having high KDR; it’s just that (as others said) playing for the objective usually implies dying a lot in unavoidable ways (explosion festivals).

Therefore, if one plays FOR KDR (trying to inflate it), he will necessarily use camping tactics and stay away from cap zones, and / or park his AI soldiers in a hidden zone so they don’t get killed.

But that’s detrimental to team effort, and since winning grants a tangible XP boost that shortens the grind, a lot of players DO care about winning. Hence the “crusade” against farming kills for the sake of it.

Lol I warned you it’s one topic that triggers people here. As long as you utilize your squad to the best of your abilities you would be able to achieve all the goals of the game. And it’s good that you are able to maintain a somewhat positive K/D rate while doing these things. This can only mean that you are aware of your surroundings and make a valuable team contributions while holding your own weight on the team.
