In those games that were screenshoted, I posted them specifically to illustrate a top tier team. I meant an entire team. Look at their badges in both of those screenshots. This was not a random ten men crew. They had specific objectives.
In the first one, they literally didnât stop a second - they went through first three objectives in literal minutes. They bypassed a tank that was stuck, a machine gun crew that had guns peering out of the houses, and even pockets of infantry lingering here and there. Their tanks literally steam rolled at top speeds in incredible mastery of the map as if they knew perfectly which route they would be taking.
It was truly dazzling. That level of coodination is impossible without all of them being on the same page. And it worked! They took objective after objective in such stunning speed that I was focused more on watching rather than playing.
It as the last two points that got super hotly contested. Because the nature of the map gave me a better field of view, but mostly because they got overconfident. This team cannot be beaten by a team that I had - but they could still lose if they made mistakes. And this overconfidence is what caused them to almost lose the game. They got over extended, and maybe on many maps it would still not be a big issue for them, but on Quarry map itâs a costly one, because defenders usually have high ground and therefore better field of view.
They diverted so many resources to disable and stop me from mowing down their infantry and that gave my âteamâ a chance to put up some resistance. Once I was gone, they could no longer ignore pockets of infantry and stray soldiers, and by the time they dealt with them my tank was back.
I donât know how many players had any games against top tier teams with 8 major badges going to different players. Especially while playing on a team such as mine in that game, where only one player got badges. And most importantly where only one player had K/D ratio above 1. Usually, even at worst, there are players with K/Dâs above and below. In this game, I was the only player on my team with a K/D above 1.
I learned a lot of fascinating strategies watching those two top tier teams. Incredible skill, superb teamwork - they âgreenlitâ my tank at all times so they knew as I was moving where I would pop out. Just incredible feeling.
Of course winning those two games would have been the âwhole cakeâ. But I am grateful for the lessons!
Just one more thing about this, I wanted to share.
When they all moved past a stuck tank, I found it so peculiar at first. I mean it was a kill they could have easily had. And 99.99999% any team irrelevant of the composition, would have had some guy throw a det pack and be done with it and get a kill. But not these guys.
At first I thought it was an oversight by one squad. But then another passed it. A tank rolled right by it, and nothing. I knew right away that this was not an oversight. They were talking to each other and telling each other to leave the tank alone.
At first I wondered why. When I realized why, I was simply stunned at not only coordination and communication that they had, but also planning, strategy and tactics. That was a spectacular command by whoever was in charge. And his reasoning for not touching that struggling tank was just praise worthy.
If so, you are to be praised for doing what you could to help your team, if anything by slowing down the enemy steamrolling process. And also for analysing and appreciating effective enemy tactis.
Still, in those circumstances you would be a prime example of âgood playingâ DESPITE poor kdr.
It never will be easy against people in a team. But letting you life in a tank make no sense to me. Blowing it up is better I think. If only for the cover it provides can be very helpful. but perhaps it can be just me not thinking about it.
Yep, they realized that a stuck but âaliveâ tank would take the slot and prevent another one from spawning.
@38733216 if the stuck tank is incapable of fighting and the frontline moves beyond it, that means his team canât have more than 1 combat active tank at a time instead of 2, since the other slot is taken from the stuck tank until it is destroyed.
Serpiko is right⌠They intentionally left a struggling tank in play, because they knew it was no harm to them as it was, and yet by not destroying it, they accomplished two things:
- Removed an extra squad from our team
- Make it harder for that other pesky tanker to respawn in his tank (ME).
This is also why they left other squads also in play. I mean this was just brilliant. Games like this make you miss a full on communicating team where you can move past small strategies and games become truly military strategic and tactical masterpieces.
NGL thatâs smart strategic playing.
Daaamn, this topic made my day. Havent seen such a persistent troll/self-righteous KD crusader in a long while. Still waiting for his profile stats though.
P.S. I do think that KD matters a bit, but in now way it is the most important in the game
He wonât post them. And we know why.
Itâs not, Serpiko. In this scenario, these were not balanced teams playings against each other by a long shot. In these type of mismatches, you cannot possibly have a good K/D rate BUT you can still be 1:1. You have to be at least 1:1. And that is a a good K/D rate, which is what said in the original post. 1:1 is not bad. But having that rate will make winning hard, especially if you are the only one doing it.
Look at some of the stats from posted screenshots by other players. You will notice a telling K/D spread. Those who are constantly much lower than 1:1, and if there is too many of them, that dooms the team because mathematically you have to either wipe out an enemy squad, or stay alive! Super low K/D - those that are much lower than 1:1 mean that a player not only failed to wipe out a squad but also died in the process of failing.
Oh those two teams were incredible. I am telling you it was just so hard not to be so impressed by their teammwork and cooperation. Being a tanker you have that awesome zoom option so you can observe things in more detail I guess, but I might have lost a squad or two because it was just mesmerizing.
I always credit enemy teams in every single battle that team I was on lost. Either their individual players or, such as in these two cases, their entire roster.
Some of you are more adept at reading badges, but if you can zoom in you will see how specialized those teams were.
Anyone is reading all of his fanfic?
Just start replying with copy-pasta
Please, pal. I am NOT trying to claim that having a good KDR automatically makes a player a selfish camper, and that we all should be playing just by zerg rushing and âdying our wayâ through (although this is actually possible).
I, like most posters here, am just denying your initial point about KDR being THE absolute skill meter alone. It may be in other games; here it is not, for a number of reasons we already listed.
I get your reasoning about math, but this thread degenerated fast because apparently you rejected all arguments about the many other ways a player can be decisive in leading his team to victory (or at least putting up a fight) even if he metaphorically wears bottle-thick glasses and canât hit the broadside of a barn from the inside.
We can continue to disagree and have a normal conversation. Appreciate the feedback, regardless. And you are the first one to actually separate or even consider that good K/D rate doesnât mean a person camps or isnât useful or whatever other nonsense some others wrote in their hurry to insult.
Besides, at the end of the day I am a tanker so I do not feel that my point of view even extends to those focusing primarily on infantry or other aspects of the game. Just sharing my opinion. Pleased to hear yours in a civilized way. Thank you for taking the time, I mean it.
When opening topic about tank aces and expecting something like this:
But instead have read excuses how whole opposing team was premade, even Best Trooper badge was targeted by elite players and even every death was part of their master battle plan. And all this could only be seen through tank scope
Lmao.
Tank ace xD
âtank aceâ You mean someone that just sits in the tank all game hogging the tank slot farming kills ? Not really hard to do
But but but⌠Kdr!!!
