I see a lot of games where players, often the ones with the highest Kill counts also have appalling K/D ratio’s, like they died 20 times, of course it’s a bit vague did those sections have 2 guys in them or 10…
Still they paid a very high price in achieving those kill count’s and used a lot there sides assets in doing so.
I would not say more than there fair share, but I think you see where I am going with this.
I can see that they would not want to make players risk averse as that would tend to slow the game down, players need to be aggressive to move the map along, to keep the action going.
But should not there be some reward for being Positive, I mean if your K/D ratio is not negative should there not be some reward at the end of the game some token modifier to your score, like say .1 % ?
So tanks would basically get a bonus?
Airplanes even if they suck?
Could send a screenshot with a guy who died 20 times because he suicide bombed himself 7 times. Reward? Punishment!

If such a thing would be implemented, than just for frontline troops. You could basically camp with every squad available, yes.
Honestly: I dont see currently any possibility to implement such a thing without promoting camping and suicide bombing.
If someone suicide bombs himself and takes several enemies with him, that would push his K/D or not?
Aircraft squad have around 2-3 members. They die and take 5-10 guys with him, it is positive plus all infantry or tank kills he does.
I think the idea would then be if you die, no bonus, and I dont think most players have more than one plane in there line up, although I suppose they could have a couple three, and they might be able to cycle through them, so I can see where you are going with this.
Dont get me wrong comrade. I love your idea because I would absolutely benefit from it. I play like that, pushing the cap zone without any thoughts about my K/D. (The more I push, the better the K/D but I guess you cant explain that to CoD kids). I just see so many people profiting of this without putting effort in it.
Bad idea. This will only benefits those campers. Why reward those useless campers? This game is basically about point rushing, it is true for both side.
O I get it, and before I Posted this I was trying to figure out how to format it, nobody really complains about the Player that dies a lot, even though he is wasting asset’s, I dont really think that but it could be argued he/she is, and the Camper is actually helping his side more by not dying, or dying comparative fewer times and getting a decent number of kills by being patient.
Both types have a sort of sympatico relationship, one is moving the map along by caping the objective, the other by attritting the enemy, at little cost to his side.
The trick is how to reward the one, and not have it be at the expense of the other.
Then we should consider to combine K/D with cap zones taken or kills in the cap zone for passive players?(As attacker) and cap defended (as Defender). I have to admit that this concept is hard to implement for defenders as a lot of defenders are stopping the advance way before the cap zone.
Yes, some other games I have played have done this as well, if you want a good score you have to be proficient in all categories, do a little of everything and do it well not just one thing entirely, the game kind of forces you to do this in a way currently if you do the daily or weekly goals but I presently wonder if it’s really worth doing those because in doing those you usually wind up having to sacrifice your time in game To achieve them, what I mean is you would be better off just trying to get as many kills as you could because you’re gonna get paid better by doing so
Or this could be part of some long term campaign score, like what is it every three months they come up with a new campaign, what is it every 68 or 70 days or something like that and that could be part of a long term scoringWith a different level of rewards
Ironically, campers (who barely contribute to the match) usually have the highest K/D, along with vehicles.
I myself am one of those players with a huge amount of deaths. Why? Well, because I rush and cap points. Often times singlehandedly win games.
So i don’t see why that camper who sat at the back of the game for the whole match, died once and got like 35 kills should get rewarded, while I who let’s say died 20 times, got 100 kills and 4.7 zone captures should not.
Rather than this bs, I’d rather see better rewards for major contributions to the match. Those being point captures and engineer buildings. maybe even things such as smoke arty. Cause even that wins games.
Way more so than a sniper in the greyzone.
It always a very 'heated" topic this, in any game that works in a similar way, often the Capture guys get annoyed when their cock blocked by the sniper, I do both capture and camp depends on the map and what the daily task is, in a perfect world a balanced approach as suggested above would be best, but there should be some reward for not wasting assets, because another way to look at that is if they had not died so much we could still be playing or we would not of lost, I dont do either exclusively but I enjoy both kinds of game play. Presently the game only rewards those that get a lot of kills and really does not do much about acknowledging the big picture.
Ppl with such kd ratios are those using smg squads only, in rotation. A simpler way would be to restrict in some way smg squad spam… Doing so would also make games a bit slower paced, as we would see less of those automatics monkeys.
Idk about this gatekeeping. I understand the purpose is most likely to discourage ‘grey zone camping’, but e.g. I spawned in my Pz IV last game in Moscow and finished the game ~175-0, top of the scoreboard and literally the only one trying to defend the objectives from waves of PPSh-41s soldiers with 3 explosive packs each (idk if I was ‘grey zone’ or not, I was doing my job and keeping my distance, obviously).
We lost, of course, I didn’t get the win bonus multiplier but honestly it wouldn’t hurt if I got some kind of K/D or ‘top player of losing side still gets win bonus’ multiplier.
You already have best vehicle squad, best tanker and bonus of a shit ton of easy kills. Possibly ranged master if you were greyzoning.
That should be enoguh of a bonus, right?
I don’t see rewarding efficient K/D being a thing that actually makes the game better with our current game modes. From my point of view, there’s already too many instances of teams getting distracted from the objective, both teams attacking/defending on the flanks in a near-endless meat grinder instead of shifting and pushing the objectives. Rewarding kills more than they are already might encourage even more of this kind of behavior.
