You guys need to fix your American names, they are silly, and off. I don’t know about German names, but you got the Russian ones right.
But yeah, whoever the hell is named Jasper, ever? ))))
And other US names aren’t much better. Listen, go google like New England, and common last names. Or something similar. Don’t go by LA population lol or something
Sure, all kinds of weird names were around, in different times. Doesn’t mean we have to invent the wheel.
Go by common, basic names, like James Stewart, or something similar. What’s this Jasper stuff? And all the rest.
Ok, you wanna go historical? Why are there all these Hispanic last names then? US military was really, really White lol during WW2. Mkay? That’s historical.
I dint know if you’re aware of this: but they’re are Americans from All over the world. It’s a real melting pot and people have names that are a mishmash of multiple cultures.
There are quite a few Hispanics in the US military, as there were in wwii. Hispanic people have been in the USA since the very beginning.
I don’t disagree, we don’t need just white dudes lol Buuuut, I mean, let’s keep it real, eh?
Half my US team has like Hispanic last names. That ain’t historical, and kinda breaks immersion. There’s Asian guys, which were like almost entirely absent in real WW2 US military.
And add silly last names, to that - just breaks role playing significantly.
Bro, Japanese were interned in Concentration Camps, mkay? And I’m sure most Asians were shunned. So quit with your silly Chinese American SJW statistics lol
Dude seriously. What kind of “American” last name do you expect? Of course some last names will sound Spanish, Irish, French, German, Scottish, English and etc. where the hell would you get an “American” name in a country that is barely 250 years old and populated mostly by 2-3 generation of emigrants? Do you mean everyone should have “British” last names, like Washington? Or you expect something like:
John Oregon, Michael Texas, John Kansas?
I would say it’s good 80-90% English background, in the States. Well, English/Irish/German and about, that’s like the mass of the foundation of the country.
And US military in WW2 was almost exclusively that.
So, just breaking immersion, is all. Workable. But should be addressed and corrected, imo.
