It's time to set limits?

You know, for a while a lot of people have been expressing their discomfort when facing squads made up of pure FG-42s and now squads of 9 guys, all equipped with a grenade launcher, if several videos are made in which they seek to stop this or expose the ridicule power that is to have such squads with such weapons.
Being honest, I think there should be a limit to how many soldiers can carry either a rifle with a grenade launcher, an FG-42, among other weapons, within a squad, since following the ā€œā€ā€œā€ā€œā€œhistoricalā€ā€" logic, not all soldiers were trained to use a rifle grenade launcher and the FG-42 was a weapon made for paratroopers and I’m sure it would have been rare for ordinary soldiers to carry them in combat.

Id rather they fix the grenade launcher spam issue rather than a blanket limit on all guns. cool video.

That reload speed is ā€œhistorically accurateā€ as well, not that i personally want a 100% accurate game but has even one tested that ingame at Darkflow after they made these changes? :joy:

How is that overkill? About two kills per grenade launch? Automatic weapons do a shit ton more damage and are more abundant. And that’s assuming the player hits something. They seem to be more useful in different maps or settings, like Tunisia with a literal open environment. Urban areas would be difficult because if you hit too close to you, it’ll kill you

If the game start making limits, people will keep demanding for limits every time an equipment is too strong. This will lead to all kinds of limits to our squad customization, which all of us don’t want.
And people will fight over what weapon should be limited or not.
Just reduce the damage of rifle grenades. That’s all that has to done.

You kinda answered your own question. You dont exactly need to hit with GL.

Shit, it was relatively rare for Fallschirmjager to carry the FG42, they were doled out one per 9 man section.

I’m not sure how I feel about blanket gun limits outside of the class limitations. I think, if they wanted to accomplish this, they could relegate the RGLs to AT Gunners, make that class more of an explosives specialist than pure AT.

As far as FG42 spam goes, I’m on the fence. It’s better than the Federov, statistically, and that rifle is limited to assaulters. I’m coming around to the idea of FG42 non-sniper variants being limited to either Assaulters (my preference) or to MG Gunners. That would limit you to either one FG42, MG42, or MP43 per infantry squad, no matter how you limit the gun.

You do. If you miss, they won’t blow up. If you hit a certain side, you might get some but not all of the people in front of you. This is no different from a guy with an automatic weapon spraying down a grouped up squad in front of them. Everyone is just complaining because people like to complain rather than offering solutions to things needing fixed. That’s why a lot of people wanted the revert on the changes done to MGs in Stalingrad rather than actually fixing the bipod/mounting system for all campaigns.

grenades have blast radius. So no, you dont have to hit the sameway as you need to with other firearms.

Theres quite massive differency between fixing something and fking up something so complaining is rather comprehesible.

Nor I dont exactly remember ā€œfixing GLā€ being a major subject in past, some minor complaints here and there about the missing / poor animations.

Yeah, lmg’s yet again received nerf making them even more reliant to bipods. To same bipods that have been broken for probably long as the bipods have been in game.
Id guess its quite sensible request to first make working bipod system before nerfing lmg’s useless without bipods.

They do, but it’s dependent on where it lands. Sometimes it’s just a hitmarker, sometimes it downs them, sometimes it kills them.

Are you sure?.. cuz i can’t say how many times i wiped 8 to 12 guys with one grenade (all of them in front of me, imagine what i can do with 9 of them) this thing needs a nerf. An automatic weapon needs to kill one by one, but this… one grenade and you kill everything inside the blast radius, which is a little too much. There was a moment where i killed everything inside a house, more than 10 guys, even a Tiger or a Jumbo has problems to do it sometimes, with this things… not a problem at all.

As a side note, i was using them a lot way before the buff, they weren’t that great but worked like a charm to clear a building while getting close to it, my main problem was the slow equip and reload but now they are too good.

Well I can fairly confidentally say a close miss from regular firearm wont harm you. So no, cant compare GL to regular firearms.

Limiting things starts a perpetual cycle of nerfing until we all have pool noodles. At least tonight, I did not see much if any rifle grenade spamming playing Normandy for 8 hours.

That is a hilarious video though. Reminds me of a particular call of duty class I made 12 years ago. The grenade shouldn’t come loaded in the rifle. That should have to be manually done to use and it definitely shouldn’t be capable of reloading that quickly. Either they stop the player from riverdancing while reloading that thing or make it take longer. That at least could be chopped up to ā€œhistorical accuracyā€ as I’m fairly sure there weren’t many dancing grenadiers during the battle back in the day.

And you can use a demo pack or a grenade and you will not have the same effect, in 10 sec or less you can shoot 3 of them, so the power you have in the hand of one guy is huge, now 9 of them… So yeah…

Well, yea. Why do you think grenade launchers are used? They have splash damage which kill a bunch of people grouped up. If anything the AI should be made smarter where they don’t huddle up, they properly use cover, and they stop going outside buildings or being in the player’s way.
