I have been cycling my 3 Panzer III Ns for the past week in BR5 matches, and I want to say that this vehicle is by far the best infantry support vehicle in the entire game.
As a main German tanker, I want to ask you, is that vehicle too strong?
Dont get me wrong, I am more than aware of its AT limitations, but in the end infantry support is the main role of the tanker class - playing the objective is what makes you win the game, and Panzer III N has completely insane anti infantry power.
The tech tree Pz. III N is good but not too good, however the Pz. III N Stalingrad (unobtainable) is much better, the reason is it’s ammo loadout.
The Pz. III N Stalingrad have 28 HEAT shells while the tech tree version only have 7. At BR II the T-50 sloped armor can bounce the Pz. III N APCBC but not the HEAT.
In terms of survivability it’s average as other top BR II tanks like the BT-7A (F-32), T-28E, M3 Lee, Mk I “Grant”, Crusader, all can kill it pretty easily depending on who score a hit first.
I been recently spamming them like crazy, taking out Pershings, IS and Jumbos, the fast reload speed makes barrel sniping very easy, and a hit to the side takes them out thanks to heat, not to mention just spamming HE going full in is always more effective for your team than slowly hunting tanks.
I think its anti infantry capabilities are too good for being a BR2 vehicle, Panzer IV F1 is pretty similar just less armored and doesnt have that nice cupola MG.
I’ve said before, it may be top of it’s BR. As far as it taking out heavy tanks… well, it is what it is. I tend to think they’re fine where they are. They aren’t particularly hard to kill, and their HEAT ammo still requires aiming.
oh yes, dont get me wrong, it requires skill and stupidity of the enemy to pull of what I am pulling of recently, but still, it drives fast, it nukes infantry, its a small enough target at BR5 where AT launchers take you out no matter your armor. If you blow up, you respawn and reach the battlefield 2 times faster than Tiger II H again…
its the total package that makes it in my mind the best vehicle in the entire game.
DID YOU REALLY GET IT? FINALLY. We’re opening champagne, players from the English forum are starting to figure it out. It’s just a celebration. I drink to your health, keep up the good work, you still have a lot to learn.
It overall is just better that most other tanks, its smaller than the T-28, isnt made of paper and has a 3 second reload… its not op, but could be nerfed a bit (or just give other nations similar tanks on br 2)
Don’t see the need to nerf it. It’s perfectly solid. Low velocity AP can take care of lighter and nonangled tanks while the low supply of HEAT means it’s not completely useless against Soviet BR II lights and overall BR III tanks but the usage of them needs to be strategic lest you run out at the wrong moment
Meanwhile the HE is a dream out of that 75mm howitzer. Few tanks in the game can compete with it and all of those are also howitzers
That being said, the armor is nothing to write home about and a careless Pz III N can be easily destroyed by just about anything. Including a 105’s HE shell if placed just right
It’s an incredibly rare example of a perfectly placed tank. Capable of dealing with its own BR and lower, capable of holding its own in higher BR’s, yet not impossible to kill either way, but somehow always useful as an infantry support tank
What you should probably be asking is why your enemies are so stupid as to ignore your threat and keep letting you kill them.
I always thought that players of an 18+ game would have the intelligence standard of normal adults.
But this game always refreshes my lower limit of average adult intelligence
I dont actually have it so I wont make any real accsuations, but should we perhaps also try to make it so that perfectly balanced tanks are present in the TTs of other nations as well? The T-28 is a literal train carrige that is impossible not to miss, perhaps we nerf the t-34 (1940)s armour (poor quality soviet steel you know) and send it to br 2? The Crusader is fine… I guess and the Scott has HEAT and as for the japanese the Ho-Ni is quite hard to kill with EP from my experience, but if you think differently would like to hear your opinion
I have stated it before, but I am of the opinion that the 3N should go up to BR3 however it should receive the late war HEAT shell it should have already plus a rebalanced shell loadout to balance it at BR3.
Good luck with that. It’s next to impossible to do. Just try and find the best ways to deal with the worst thing you’ll fight and go from there. I got AT Gunners in every squad for a reason. Lol. I’d probably say the Scott’s in a real good place. It’s speed can sometimes really help it out, its reload is cracked, and it’s a similar 75mm howitzer as the Pz III N but it has so much worse armor. I’d say it fits real good where it’s at though
And of course, obligatory I want more SPH’s and HMC’s
Panzer III N has 50mm armour on the turret which is easy to pen, all BR2 tanks can easily take it out with one or two shoots while any BR1 tank with a cannon bigger than 30mm can penetrate the III N by shooting at the turret so as others have said, it really only depends on who scores the first hit.
