IS-1 / Tiger I appears to be T-34-85 / PZ IV in a different texture

I only came back to this game to test these tanks and at this stage they seem like absolute crap to me. I don’t see any point in wasting my time improving them. Is there anyone here who has already upgraded any of them to the maximum level and sees any significant improvement?

Upgrade T34? Ehhh not that worth it even dough it will remain the best allied tank of Berlin

to be fair, Panther was kinda superior to the tiger as well, and also what do you think is gonna happen when Tiger II comes out? its only gonna have 100 mm turret armor, so armor wise, just a Panther 2.0.

IS2 and Tiger II will have better guns tho, which cant be said about Tiger and IS 1.
Then again… IS2 reload time is gonna be very frustrating to deal with…

personally I would really like to see ISU 152 vs Jagdpanther or something along these lines.

I use STOCK tiger and have more success with it than any other tanks Russian tanks included.

It’s bizzare how they modeled the gun, but tiger somehow has better pen value than Panther… I don’t know why, it’s not supposed to.
So. Not only does Tiger seems to pen other tanks more easily than the Panther (DF logic?), it’s shells are definitely more powerful: if the Tiger pen something, it explode. That’s it, one shot kill.

I don’t know why some people struggle with it… maybe they don’t angle well?

sure is! reason why i didnt upgrade the normal variant yet. but, i do use the first squad with the su85/panzerjager IV :stuck_out_tongue: since, i do have the premiun variants that are comparable to the free ones on another squad at any given time :stuck_out_tongue:

This is a Tiger destroyer:

best tank to nuke tigers with 1 shot

@77245246 i do upgrade my vehicles as i play the campaigns, i intend to have everything maxed in the future, so i do it as i go.

and its always nice to upgrade them. the marginal gains are worth the cost.

faster turret speed, less bounce when breaking or acelerating, less shell dispersion and so on.
tiger its a killing machine, untill tiger 2 arrives, i intend to have this one fully maxed for my daily t34 nuking.

i m always, upgrading the vehicles, since i do see the benefits/i do play with them alot. :stuck_out_tongue:

If you are like me, that after a campaign is finished all you care is your own fun with no regards for the batle outcome and do enjoy tank vs tank in this game, i advice to do the same.

imo, berlin tank vs tank > every other campaign

I guess that depends on which Turret they give it.
From what I have seen of Alpha footage it had the (P) turret which is lackluster.
But given that Berlin is 1945, I think the (H) turret makes much more sense.
That thing is gonna be a nightmare.

185mm on the turret face is gonna be a hard prospect to pen.
Hull down its a monster, that only the IS2 will properly deal with.
The Gun in the Tiger 1 is a monster, so this thing is gonna eat T34s easily.

@Conscript_Joe not sure why it pens better either to be honest. But the explosive filler is right in the money. The 88mm shell had 3 to 5 times the filler of the 75mm.

I do still have issues getting hammered in my Tiger, but its really more due to fighing in the debris than the tank itself.
I also don’t know 100% of my weak points. So there is that.

109 gm HE filling in Tiger APHE shell, 29 gm in Panther APHE shell (less than a hand grenade!!) - that’s significantly more boom for your buck!

I want all my vehicles max upgraded too, really worth it.

However, with time I’ve noticed a trend: all vehicles are gaining a gold version of them eventually.

It’s why I wait… And get EVERY gold order skin I can get my hands on! Exept for planes… Because even a maximum star plane won’t make me a good pilot, I will still su*k

It’s funny about the SU. I’ve tested in practice range, there’s indeed only one spot Tiger can pen in the front, and from up close. Right between tracks. Thing is we rarely see that spot thanks to terrain… SU is a beast! But I rarely see it, people ignore that cute lil TD for some reason. I do want the ISU152 thought, even if it only comes with 8 shells

this is true ofc, but untill then, i enjoy a full maxed vehicle :stuck_out_tongue: there is no point in hoarding orders like a maniac if i m not using them to gain something in return when i m playing,

if the gold vehicle come, i ill buy it as well. take the example of my panzer IV/70, i already had the normal version maxed and still bought the gold order one lmao

^ doing this, doesnt make me a better tanker, or i ill have advantages over everything that moves, i still die, i still get destroyed lots lots of times and i still loose batles as anyone else here, but, atleast the vehicle, sits at its full potential :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I have the same problem to be honest, though I didn’t get the PZ4/70, that thing is fugly.
I used it for a bit, and it was okay but really awkward on how the MG worked in concert, so I decided against it.
Still , I got most of the other stuff because you know…gotta catch em all…

the moment i realised where the MG shots went on my sights over the hull position , i was all fine with it.

its just muscle memory to aim on this spot with it with the hull straight on the direction of my sights.:

(this is a stug III picture i had around, but hopefully you get my point)

after that, the tank shines alot. - but I find the jagdpanzer IV more capable in dealing with tanks.

still, nice tank to hunt t34’s in berlin. when i just play against tanks i rather play with panzer iv’s or this anti tank machines to have a challenge and the kills are actually rewarding.

nuking with tiger its fun, but gets boring after a few matches. imo

One day ill have to take it out again. I did get better once I got the JPZ4 from the event, and I occasionally take the armored 4 out for a spin.
I guess I like the tiger because I can get in. Nuke the grey zoners, get out and hit the point.
I usually only stay in any tank if I have a friend with me.
I guess though that is more of a server thing than anything else.

I love the TDs though . I can’t wait for the Hetzer…because Hetzer.
Even if that was never its official name.

Interesting - it is, or course, exactly the same gun firing the same ammo unless they’re using APHE for one and HVAP for hte other!!

I got the event JPz-4 for Berlin and find it dies just as quickly, or even more so, than the Pz 4 - the low body (and yes hiding behind rubble, etc) and thicker sloped armour seemed to have no effect at all.

yes, but actually no.

Most of it comes from the projectile speed over the barrel length.
Regarding the shell, I don’t have idea if it’s diferent or not.
But it’s possible. Take an example of a tiger 1 and tiger 2 shell. Both 88mm

ingame:
Jagdpanzer IV (event) 7.5 cm Pak 39 L/48
panzer iv70/a Pak 42 L/70 gun

i belive i did stated the names back then wrongly (stated the iv70 canon over the jagdpanzer, but somehow in-game the Pak39 jagdpanzer destroys enemy tanks more easily. Imo ofc)

interesting, i find it deflects most of shots in the frontal plate :X

And nvm. Found the shell difference from Pak39 and pak42

Not sure why the Pak39 feels more capable when the 42 travels faster irl and deals with more armor per type of ammo.

But anyway I digress

At least the Hetzer gets its MG.
Nice video. Not a fan of the camo but thats just a placeholder probably on the Hetz and Jadg.
