Into battle!

I’d prefer a possibility to return to a match where technical problems kicked you out as well as a penalty that’s not -20% for your next 2 battles but rather prohibits you from joining a new match within 5-10 minutes.

This way people who experience technical difficulties won’t get punished too hard since they are either able to solve those issues and join back or will most likely experience those problems for further 10 minutes and get time to ideally solve them.

But getting -20% for more matches will carry on even to the moment they solved those technical issues.

I deserted about 10 times last week because of this. If my Daughter is hungry… I can’t just say
“stop crying and endure, or else you will have 20% less food for your next two meals…”

You may have forgotten the roadmap:

I do not.

However: why are penalties applied BEFORE the desertion root causes are fixed, such as what we’re discussing now?

Any answer?

I would also add; if people quit right when the game is about to start, reduce penalty; because they leave the game while other have a high chance to join

The Desertion penalty system is welcome, but you need to add a more robust reconnection system. I often got desconnected but couldn’t get back to the battle.
Also, I think the penalty should only apply after the first Desertion, because I rather have a bot playing after someone desert than an AFK player trying to avoid the penalty.

And disconnects and bugs should be treated as : allowed desertion; like 1-2 times a day

BRIV vehicles as a campaign starter is a serious issue.

Not only do they grief their team with their lesser powered vehicles and weapons but make for a worse time for theirselves.

They ruin my matches… so they can play by theirselves.

Happy to say i will still continue “ruining matches” by not giving effort to these casuals and just leaving because silver or experience is not my priority it’s the ENJOYMENT I GET FROM THE GAME (which is near nonexistent)

I will also continue leaving when i’m solo and obviously facing more than 4 competent players. You cannot force me to play something I will not enjoy.

On the topic… you will not make me play bulge, pacific or japan at all and will continue to leave every time i get one of those… because the 20% debuff was so effective.

And clearly, you cannot make a proper system to discourage everything that i’ve mentioned so… appreciate it.

On console this feature is impossible when you’re dc’d while plying with a squad which is about the only time i’d care about joining back… ironic.

Ok so I know people (maybe even certain youtubers) definately disagree with me, but I genuinly think that a desertion penalty should not be added to the game. For many reasons. Lets start with perhaps one of the more obvious ones. #1: Why should I be punished with a penalty in this case a -20% xp penalty simply by not being active for 2 mins? Like most of us dont do enlisted full time, and have jobs/schools and exams to tend to, so, it shouldnt be surprising that once every few matches I might get a phone call from someone at work who needs help, or even a more private reason. Now all of a sudden, I get peanalised for having to actually live irl and not be a reddit mod that sits in front of a monitor all day, like we got lives too you know. #2: Why is there a desertion penalty implamented when there is no concrete way to focus and disregard maps that the player doesnt want to see in the first place. You are forcing players to actively have a worse less enjoyable time playing your game as the player has to choose between playing a map that he doesnt like or facing a pretty big penalty for 2 future matches. You are forcing the player into a corner and surprise surprise people dont like it and thusly will leave and play the games of compeditors etc. If you are going to implament a penalty for desertion, why not also tackle the No1 issue that causes those desertions itself; not giving players the freedom to choose / ban maps that they do not wish to play. Its like chopping off branches of a plant whilst not touching the roots that allow it to grow, those roots are the lack of player control over what maps they can play. Finally my 3rd reason will probably be very subjective, and people will def disagree with me, but for me at least, one of the main reasons why I leave matches when I do is because of clans curb stomping on public servers. It has happened way too many times before when I want to have a chill game of enlisted after a long day, and then I have to face EVA, U45N, etc. and etc. clans that just have to join public battles in 5 to 10 stacks, all hopped in on discord, and absolutely beat the living shit out of the enemy team as if they were playing another clan. Simply saying “get good” isnt really an answer to this. A normal average player who is playing on their own should not have to face a 10 stack of seasoned sweaty clans that go in pulic lobbies to tend to their egos. Like, we get it, your good, why dont you go and get your clans into a custom battle and duke it out there, where you can be as sweaty as you want. Players do not want to face this, and many leave because of stomps, so in my opinion clans should be forced to be in custom battles if they want to be in a 10 stack. I think once all these issues are ironed out, then it could be respectable to implament a desertion penalty, but until then, the tree will keep on growing because the roots have not been uprooted.

There are different ways to make a penalty system for deserting: you choose the most boring one.

Only allow ro reconnect to running game, (except the ones who deserted at the beginning of a game) would be very effective

Another would be a time based system, wich i highly discouraged with the current entlisted issues

The last is easy as effective: if you leave a game; you dont get any xp, and the staying ones get the xp the individual collected.

Would also insensitivity staying players to stay

I expected you to be more…considerate of what the opinions of players are, do you really think that it is my fault that my manager calls me during a match, dont think so

If you do, you risk having much worse than 20% less bed time!

Ohohoh
