What people? theres no people only sounds just sounds cute sounds nice sounds fedorov sounds yes yes yes good sounds people sounds those are bad sounds
I understand there being a penalty for deserting the current battle your in but being penalised for a further two battles is totally unfair…there can be many reasons why a player has to drop out from losing internet connection…callers at the front door, phone calls, call of nature ( my main problem as fighting bowel cancer so with out warning I sometimes have to make a dash for the toilet ) Being punished for real life occurences is a bit unfair …At the moment I spend real money on the game buying gold etc but if I’m going to get punished for two extra games everytime I have to dash to the toilet etc then I’ll stop spending real money and just stick to the gold I earn in game…I think the developers need to rethink this one
And bring the train mode to more maps too like Tunisia and Normandy
No. That won’t work or make people stay. The penalty needs to be harsher.
The desertion penalty is a really bad choice. A human person made that decision?
I regularly spend money, I regularly desert terrible matches. The matchmaking is very unbalanced. I don’t give you money to be canon fodder to coordinated teams or spend all my time building rallies because there are none. Now you’re going to punish me? I’ll delete your game instead. Seriously good luck with things.
Nonsense, the most important thing is that we haven’t received a suitable map selection system.
About the punishment for desert.
If I cant leave, ok.
I will take a tank, park and wait the game finish.
Map selection only solves half of people leaving.
Just don’t do it, reward the players who stay instead of punishing the players who don’t, this mechanic is hostile towards new players and if by any chance you guys have noticed we kinda need new players, there are not enough players right to even consider implementing a healthy matchmaking system.
I am specially against this feature if the map choosing system will not allow you to 100% choose all the maps that you dislike. Instead you could consider implementing a vote system to end the match if players are not having fun or whatever, something like that instead would be for the best.
Maybe if the matches were not doomed since the players are in Q people would not be quitting matches. The map choosing system is a good start, but punishing players for quitting will not do any good and will not prevent a player who is not having fun or does have actual important matters to attend from quitting the game. Address this matter without hurting yourself in the process, if you hurt the player base you are the ones who will end up loosing more in the long term.
Simply penalizing players for leaving a game is an inflexible, performative response. Without features like the ability to choose preferred game modes or maps, or a proper skill-based matchmaking system, such penalties are meaningless and only serve to reduce player rewards.
A better solution would be to implement a system where penalties increase with repeated offenses, or to reward the remaining team when a player leaves. These approaches address the root cause and offer more effective ways to discourage players from leaving matches.
Be Darkflow:
- Attract players with authentic looking campaigns
- Incentivise those players to invest time and money
- Remove campaigns in favor of a merge
- Open Stalingrad and Rzhev for all BRs including jets
- Punish those same players for not wanting to participate in this
… - Profit?
Before penalizing players for leaving games early, the in-game bugs themselves should be fixed. Otherwise, such penalties are neither fair nor necessarily justified.
First, when players form a team to start a game, the server can’t guarantee that all players will actually enter the game. If only some players from the same team join, leaving early is inevitable; otherwise, what’s the point of playing as a team? Second, there are occasional bugs where the server forcibly kicks players out of a game mid-play. Penalizing these players is completely unreasonable.
Regardless of whether or not players who leave games early are penalized, I hope the game developers can fix these bugs as soon as possible. Especially the issue where players from the same team can’t enter a game together—I encounter this at least once or twice almost every day.
I was not on board when the devs open up the maps for a whole tier. They said we have map selection. So i was ok, maybe i can still play br2 without Berlin. Nope you guys just made it so we play that map less. That’s bs i was hoping more of “play br2, choose only tunisia and moscow. Br5 only play on Berlin.” But for everybody else they can choose to play br5 Tunisia is fine. THAT’S what i was hoping for, choose your br and select the maps you want to play with that said br. This would’ve been better for the vets and people who still want a little bit of H.A. Fixed something that wasnt even broken to begin with. Also make a br6 and leave the jets on that br. At least br5 can still have prop planes.
Can we finally do something about multi-stacks playing against a team full of randoms?
Imagine how turbo loss must be an 11-minute confrontation?
My issue with this.
Mcdonald just answered it’s “considered in the roadmap”… meaning soon™ MAYBE…
…
Those measures should really come BEFORE punishment is added, or at least at the same time.
- preventive medicine costs way less than corrective medicine.
It won’t work well.
Going to share my humble opinion on desertion and what to do with it:
Reasons why I (and most other people who have a life outside of this game) leave:
- Team doesn’t build rallies
- Team doesn’t play objectives at all
- bad map/game mode
- My internet crashes
- Irl circumstances (someone or something more important than this game requires your attention)
Now you have two ways of addressing this:
1. Addressing the symptom (people deserting):
A. Larger penalties for deserters (current decision: -20%xp for next 2 matches)
B. Larger rewards for people who stay until the end; this can be done by:
.1 Giving +20%xp anytime you stayed until the end
.2 Making some kind of “honour system” that is linked with other rewards
2. Addressing the problems themselves:
I. Giving top 50% of people with the highest engineer score or “spawn score” a %xp bonus
II. Giving top 50% of people with the highest objective participation (kills & capture) a %xp bonus
III. Map picking, currently being introduced, very nice
IV. Improve the reliability of the rejoin game button (doesn’t appear over half of the time), and if someone their internet shuts off for a longer time, why punish them?
V. Doesn’t happen to me that often, but if it happens to anyone, why punish them?
VI. Let new players start with engineers instead of sniper and make it clear to them how important engineers are & explain they give extra xp.
Drawbacks & positives:
Drawbacks of option 1A: You are not addressing the underlying issues at hand. You are punishing people who like playing the game, but leave because of the above-listed reasons (which are all very reasonable). This will leave a very sour taste for anyone who slightly values their time. It also more heavily impacts starting players; this will just hurt your player base.
Positives of option 1A: probably easier for devs & you make intellectually less gifted crybabies happy (for a few days, they’ll find new reasons to cry).
Drawbacks of option 1B.1 & 1B.2: You are not addressing the underlying issues at hand.
1B.2 requires more work than 1A&1B.1.
Positives of option 1B.1: just as easy as 1A for devs to implement, creates less resentment by not punishing deserters.
Positives of option 1B.2: adds an interesting new mechanic to the game that isn’t linked to performance. (I think that in theory this sounds nice, but in practice will mostly either be ignored or be accepted if the rewards are good enough)
Drawbacks of option 2: Will require more work from devs.
Positives of option 2: people will be more incentivised to play the game properly, will address issues more accurately, and will not create resentment in players.
I think that option 2 will be healthier for the game, because it promotes better behaviour, and doesn’t punish having an idiotic team or having irl issues.
And to finish on a positive note, I love that you’re implementing a form of map picking. This is a significant step in the right direction; great work!
thats only going to make people bitter, giving people who stay a bonus is the clear way to go since it gives people an incentive to stay in matches since you will gain something, otherwise people are just going to probably meme on the desertion penalty and intentionally leave games just for the sake of it.
Two pretty much useless features. 1st Map selection which shouldn’t even have to exist, since we should have Campaign or Front selection, or Year, to have it be immersive in WW2, not this crappy shit function that won’t work anyway.
2.nd Yeah what about Match sucks D and all enemy team is made of tryhards spawncamping ur full bot team, and still at ened of day 20% silver loss=? on a match you probably mostly left because was not gonna win anyway, You don’t earn f all if you don’t have Premium AND Win, and has best stats in the match.
20% less silver won’t really bother.
These both tie in nicely with Devs doing features that tries to dam up more fundamental problems with matchmaking and the game in general
Preferred missions system will help the desertion.
Desertion penalty system will not help the game.
Lets see wait with the Desertion penalty system
